Link selector
Fig. 3.11. Link selector

Disconnect draft of the selector lever 2 / selector shaft (Fig. 3.11).
Toggle from position ?P? to position ?S?.
In this case the selector rods and the shift actuator should be easy to move, otherwise replace the selector rod or drive gear.
Toggle position ?P?.
Set the lever / selector shaft on the gearbox in position ?P?. The lever should enter into engagement with the parking lock wheel, the front wheels are blocked (can not be twisted in one direction at a time).
Link selector must press the lever / selector shaft, otherwise adjust the thrust selector.
Gently push rod to the selector lever / selector shaft. In this bend lever / selector shaft, otherwise it will be impossible to accurately adjust the gear changes.
Adjust the thrust selector.

Adjusting lever
Disconnect draft of the selector lever / selector shaft.
Toggle switch ?S?.
Set the lever / selector shaft on the gearbox in position ?D?.
Remove the handle of the selector lever.
You should always observe the sequence off of the battery.
Turn off the mass terminal of the battery when the ignition is off.
Remove the ashtray and cover drive gear from a central console.
Remove the cover drive gear.
Remove the frame with the drive gear.
Loosen the clamping bolt of the selector rod about one turn.
Gently push rod to the selector lever / selector shaft so as not to bend lever / selector shaft, otherwise the gear shift can not be adjusted accurately.
Determine the position of the selector, for this little rocking selector in position ?D? back and forth without having to switch out of position ?D?.

Tightening the clamping bolt with the nozzle
Fig. 3.12. Tightening the clamping bolt with the nozzle

Tighten in this position the clamping bolt with a torque of 10 Nm. To do this, you can use the nozzle T40031 (Fig. 3.12).
Further installation in reverse order.
Install the ashtray cover and center console switch actuator.
Connect the battery.
Perform work steps after connecting the battery.
