Removal, installation and maintenance of the oil pump

This procedure is one of those whose implementation does not require the removal of the engine from the car.

Withdrawal

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Drain the cooling system (see chap. Current care and maintenance).
  2. Disconnect the negative wire from the battery.
  3. Drain the engine oil (see chap. Current care and maintenance).
  4. Remove the timing belt (see chap. Current care and maintenance).
  5. Remove the pan, and maslozabornik slinger (see. Section Removal and installation of the oil pan).
  6. Remove the two screws on the steering pump and the four mounting bolts of its support bracket.
  7. Remove the steering pump assembly to the mounting bracket.
  8. Remove the crankshaft gear timing - if necessary, use a stripper designed for removing the steering wheel.
  9. Remove the remaining four mounting bolts and remove the oil pump assembly.
  1. Remove the pump assembly of the O-ring (1).

Setting

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Replace the pump assembly of the new O-ring.
  1. Put on an interfaced surface of the pump assembly of continuous cushion sealant.
  1. Place the pump on the motor and secure it with four screws tightening last with demanded effort (bolt A: 22 Nm bolts Q: 44.5 Nm).
  2. Remove the bottom two, then the top two mounting bolts of the compressor K / V.
  3. Release the three bolts securing the support bracket of the compressor K / V.
  4. Install the steering pump support bracket and secure it with four screws, tighten them by hand.
  5. Tighten the three bolts securing the support bracket K / V.
  6. Replace the compressor K / V, manually tightening its attachment.
  7. Tighten compressor (first upper then lower) with the required torque (23.5 Nm).
  8. Tighten with demanded effort (32.4) bolts of the support bracket of the steering pump.
  9. Install the steering pump and secure it with two bolts, tightening the last with demanded effort (57.5 Nm).
  10. Reinstall the crankshaft gear by tightening the large center bolt to the required torque (162 Nm).
  11. The further installation is made in the reverse order of dismantle of components. Do not forget to follow the requirements of Specifications of the Head engine to the efforts of a tightening of threaded fasteners.
  12. Fill the engine with fresh engine oil.
  13. Start the engine and check for any signs of leaks through joints installed components.
  14. Finally, check for correct installation of the ignition timing, if necessary, make appropriate adjustment (see chap. Systems of an electric motor).

Service

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Remove the oil pump assembly.

Dismantling

The design of the oil pump

1 - Cover
2 - The outer rotor
3 - The inner rotor

4 - Build the pressure reducing valve
5 - Seal
6 - Body

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Move the pump assembly on a bench, remove the seven fixing screws and remove the cover (1).
  2. Remove the inner (3) and outer (2) rotors.
  3. Remove the retaining ring and remove the components of the pressure reducing valve (saddle, spring and plunger).
  4. Remove the seal (5), - the oil seal must be replaced without fail (see. Section Replacing crankshaft seals).

Check

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Inspect the body and pump cover, in case of detection of cracks, deformation and other mechanical damage, replace defective components.
  2. Estimate degree of deterioration of the plunger assembly of the pressure reducing valve, in case of need make replacement.
  3. Check the condition of the valve spring assembly, in the case of defects, replace. Measure the free length of the spring - if the result of measurement exceeds 45.5 mm, the spring has to be replaced.
  4. Perform control measurements:
  • Measure the axial clearance of the rotors;
  • Measure the gap between the tops of the teeth of the rotors;
  • Measure the amount of movement of the outer rotor landing in the working chamber housing.
  1. Compare results of measurements to requirements of Specifications of the Head of engine, if necessary, make appropriate substitutions.

Assembly

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Installation is the reverse order of dismantle of components. Before boarding the pump assembly grease the new oil seal clean motor oil. Cover planted on the body through the sealant. Make sure that the fastening screws are tightened to the required torque (7.5 Nm).
