Service components of the cylinder head and camshaft



This procedure is one of those whose implementation does not require the removal of the engine from the car.

Details of the installation, the design of the cylinder head and the scheme of the valve as shown in the illustration details the installation of the inlet pipeline and a final collector.

Dismantling and maintenance components

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Make the necessary preparatory procedures (see. Section systems of electric motor).
  2. Remove the gas distribution belt and timing components (see chap. Routine maintenance and servicing, and Section Removal and installation of components of timing).
  3. After removing thermofilter, turn out fixing bolts and separate the exhaust manifold from the cylinder head and the front exhaust pipe exhaust system.
  4. Turn out fixing bolts and separate from the cylinder head assembly of the inlet pipeline.
  5. Turn out fixing bolts and remove the cylinder head cover and the front cover.
  1. Acting strictly in order, two or three steps, release the cylinder head bolts. Finally, turn out fixing bolts and remove the head, pre obstuchal the perimeter interface with power hammer with soft brisk. Remove head gasket.
  1. Inspect the head for signs of leaks, cracks, cavities in the mating surfaces and other mechanical damage. With the probe type and the blade flatness meter (set at the edge of a steel ruler) evaluate the degree of deformation of mating with the cylinder block (see. Graphic the intake manifold and the exhaust manifold surfaces of the head. Compare results of measurements to requirements of Specifications of the Head of Engine. If necessary, give the head in a groove (see. Specifications of the Head of Engine), and after checking the amount of penetration of the valve seats and operating clearances in the camshaft bearings.
  1. Acting strictly in order, release the bolts of covers of bearings of camshafts.
  1. Remove the lid and remove the camshafts.
  1. By marking the installation position, remove the cylinder head hydropushers valves - When pushers must be established strictly on the former places (if you need to replace them is absent). Look lifters for signs of wear and mechanical damage, replace defective components. If the compression of the fingers section pushers are moved relative to each other, the pusher has to be replaced.
  1. Carefully wipe the bed head and bearing caps, then lay the camshafts to their regular places and measure the magnitude of the axial play.

Tightening the screws should be made in the reverse order of their release.

Inspect the geometric parameters of the valves - Measure the length of each side of the valve from a flat plate to cut end of the stem, also measure the thickness of the cylindrical part (girdle) plates. Compare results of measurements to requirements of Specifications of the Head of engine, replace the defective valve.

Measuring the length of the valve.
  1. Lubricate the valve seat with a thin layer of red lead and, without turning, push it to the valve plate. Remove the valve and left on the surface of his working facet should assess the density of its pressing into the seat.

  2. The magnitude of the valve stem protruding above the surface of the head, determine planting depth saddles. The nominal value of 36.36 ÷ 37.27 mm. If the result is within the range of 37.27 ÷ 37.97 mm, beneath the lower plate corresponding equivalent valve spring washer. If the valve seat depth exceeds 37.97 mm and the cylinder head should be replaced.
  1. With the help of a micrometer to measure the diameters of the valve stems on three levels. The results of measurements record.
  1. With Nutromer define inner diameters valve guides.
  1. By subtracting the maximum results of the first series of measurements from the corresponding results of the second series, determine the amount of movement of planting valve guide bushings. Compare the results of calculations to requirements of Specifications of the Head of engine, if necessary, replace the guides.
  1. Measure the protrusion guides above the head. Compare results of measurements to requirements of Specifications of the Head of engine, if necessary, replace the sleeves.
  1. If necessary, warming slowly to a head temperature of 90 ?� C by means of a special device, acting from the combustion chambers, emboss guides of its number of cavities in the head.
  1. Prepare a removable sleeve - note the differences in the design guides intake and exhaust valves.
  1. Once again, head to the heating temperature of 90 ?� C, press in the new guides in the receptacles to the required depth.
  2. After finishing the installation of new guides, repeat measurement of backlashes in their respective landing flaps.

Installing the valve stem seals should be made after completion of the fitting of valves.

  1. Carefully review the state of the valve springs - in the case of chips, cracks and other mechanical damage, replace defective components.
  2. Measure the free length of the spring rate the degree of violation of stippling (see. - in excess of any of the measurement result of the limit value (see. Specifications of the Head of Engine) replace the corresponding spring (s).
  1. Measure the height of the cams of the camshaft, - if the result of any of the measurements is less than specified in the Specifications of the Head of engine limit, the shaft should be replaced.
  1. Measure the diameters of the bearing journals, check for the presence and roundness (see. Compare results of measurements to requirements of Specifications of the Head of engine, if necessary, replace the shaft.
  2. Place the tree in the prism and using the meter DTI check for bending (see. If the measurement exceeds the limit, replace the shaft.
  3. Carefully smooth out interfaced surfaces of a head and cylinder block, clean the threaded holes. Measure the length of the head bolts, compare the results of measurements to requirements of Specifications of the Head of Engine, elongated bolts replace.
  4. Assemble in the reverse order of the dismantling of the components (see. Also section Service of the cylinder head and camshaft components). When laying in a head camshaft, make sure that they have been deployed mounting studs gears up. Remember that the valve components in the assembly should be established strictly on the former places. Do not forget to replace the gaskets, seals mating surfaces of the head to the block, the exhaust manifold and the intake manifold and other sealing elements (including the O-ring of the camshaft sensor). Tightening head bolts made in two-three steps in the reverse order to that shown with the final effort of 80 ÷ 86 Nm - before screwing the threaded part and lubricate the underside of the bolt heads clean motor oil. Before installing the cylinder head cover apply to the shaded areas the head surface sealant - Nominal effort of a tightening of bolts of a cover of 4 ÷ 6 Nm.
