Automatic transmission: Check oil level



You need the following parts:

  • ATF Dexron - II and M - III

Check

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Warm up the engine ride for 20 km, then the gearbox oil temperature will be at least 65 ?� C.
  2. Place the vehicle on a flat surface.
  3. Run the engine for 2 minutes at idle. Tighten the handbrake switch the selector lever to all positions and leave in position P.
  1. Remove the dipstick and wipe with a clean cloth.
  1. Insert the rod back and pull out again.
  2. Check the oil level. If necessary, add oil slowly with the help of a funnel, and a grid.

The oil level should not be below the minimum marks, otherwise it may cause damage to the transmission. If the level is above the maximum marks (F), this can lead to overheating of the box, causing leakage. If the level is too high, oil must be pumped out.

If the oil is an automatic transmission has a black color and the smell of burning, then gearbox is faulty and should be checked in the workshop.
