Removing and installing radiator



1 - resonance chamber

After a long operation of the vehicle subtle channels in the radiator may be clogged because of the remnants of the coolant and lime deposits. This leads to a drop in cooling capacity, the engine is overheating. In this case, save only the replacement of the radiator.

Withdrawal

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Disconnect earth cable from the battery.

This data is erased from the memory of malfunctions of the engine or a protective code of a radio receiver. Before disconnecting the battery should read instructions in Section Removal and installation of the battery.

  1. If present, unscrew the resonant chamber.
  2. Drain the coolant.
  3. Disconnect the upper and lower radiator hoses, after loosening and moving the clamps completely.
  4. Disconnect the hose to the expansion tank of the radiator, after loosening the clamp.
  5. Unplug the radiator fan.
  6. Diesel engine: Turn off coolant level sensor.
  7. Cars with automatic transmission: Disconnect the piping from the oil cooler, after loosening and moving the clamps completely. Plug the hoses clean bolts.
  8. Unscrew the bolts of the upper radiator, radiator to tilt back and pull together with the fan.
  9. If you do not have enough space, you can remove the radiator fan.

Fins have very sharp edges, so when removing the recommended work gloves.

If the radiator is removed for more than 48 hours, it must be rinsed with clean water and dry with compressed air and to close the hole. The radiator can be stored and filled with a cooling fluid by closing the opening. If this is not done, the corrosion, which further leads to leaks.

Setting

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. If you want to rearrange the fan on the new radiator.
  1. If you install the old radiator, it must be tested. Check that the grid of the radiator, and a waterproof casing is not damaged.
  1. If fins are bent, they must be careful to align the screwdriver.
  2. Check out all the coolant hoses for the presence of tears, cracks and other damage, if necessary, replaced. Check the condition of the rubber lugs fixing the radiator.
  3. Insert top radiator so that the radiator mounting stud includes a rubber packing on the bottom bracket.
  4. Tilt the radiator forward, set the upper bracket and tighten the bolts with a force of 10 Nm.
  5. Attach the upper and lower radiator hoses and fix their collars.
  6. Attach the coolant hose to the expansion tank and fix its collar.
  7. Connect the cables to the fan and thermoswitch.
  8. Diesel: Connect the cable to the sensor coolant level.
  9. Cars with automatic transmission: Remove the screws of the hose, wear hose on the oil cooler and secure with clamps. Check the fluid level in automatic transmission, see. Chapter Introduction.
  10. Fill up with coolant, see. Section Routine maintenance.
  11. Connect the earth cable to the battery.
  12. If available, set the clock and set the security code radio.
  13. Warm up the engine and check the tightness of hose connections and a radiator.
  14. Check the coolant level, top up if necessary.
