If the starter does not turn, then first check whether there is a terminal 50 of the traction relay required to draw power - no less than 8V. If the specified voltage is supplied, you should check on the wiring lines that belong to the starter circuit. Retractable whether the starter in the presence of a full battery voltage can be checked as follows:
If the starter is started normally, the fault lies in the wire to the starter. In this case, check the starter in the removed state.
Test condition: the need to tighten the connection failure, and they should not be oxidized.
CAUSE | REMEDY |
Starter does not rotate during actuation of the ignition starter switch |
The battery is discharged | Charge the battery. |
A broken line 50, which goes to the ignition starter switch, starter switch is faulty | Repair the open, replace faulty parts. |
Broken wire or connection; discharged battery | Check battery cables and connections, measure the battery voltage, charge it if necessary. |
Inadequate flow of current due to frayed or oxidized compounds | Clean the poles and battery terminals. |
There is no voltage at terminal 50 (the traction relay) | Restore the fused connection between the battery, starter and the vehicle body. |
Starter turns too slowly and the engine will not start |
The battery is discharged | Charge the battery. |
In the winter there is no engine power or multigrade oil | Fill multigrade oil. |
Inadequate flow of current due to loose or oxidized compounds | Clean poles and terminals of the battery and clean the connections on the starter, tighten the connection. |
The carbon brushes are not adjacent to the collector terminals in their contact surfaces are worn, torn, oily or contaminated | Check, clean or replace the carbon brushes, make sure the contact surfaces. |
Insufficient gap between the carbon brushes and the collector | Replace carbon brushes and clean the contact surface of the carbon brushes. |
Collector scratched or burned and dirty | Grind collector or replace an anchor. |
At terminal 50 there is no voltage (at least 8) | Check the ignition switch and the starter or the traction relay. |
Faulty magnetic switch | Replace magnetic switch. |
Starter runs, and retracts the motor shaft does not rotate or rotates in jerks |
Defective pinion gear | Replace a gear transmission. |
Gear contaminated | Clean the gear. |
Defective ring gear on the flywheel | Modify the ring gear, if necessary, replace the flywheel. |
It does not work pinion gear |
Dirty or faulty pinion gear or a steep thread | Clear a gear transmission, replace it if necessary. |
Faulty magnetic switch | Replace magnetic switch. |
Loose or broken return spring | Restore the return spring. |
The starter continues to run after the ignition has been turned off |
Hangs traction relay, not disabled | Immediately turn off the ignition, replace the magnetic switch. |
Not turned off the ignition key switch and devices | Immediately disconnect the wires from the battery, replace the ignition key switch and devices |
