Contact "15" is energized when the ignition (key in the lock is in position ?II?), with the ignition coils is provided by the current consumers who should receive power only when the engine is running. The wires on the contacts "15" have a black braid, sometimes with the addition of color bands for certain units.
Contact ?15R? denotes contacts which must be operated at the key position ?I? and ?II?, as well as the starter. Braid, as a rule, with additional black stripes.
Contact "30" is constantly under pressure from the battery, or when the engine is running - from the generator. So rough handling tool it can short circuit or spark, if not removed from the negative terminal of the battery. Penciled wires are conductive, and are typically red sheath, if necessary with additional bands of different color.
Contact ?30a? is constantly under strain from the positive pole of the battery through a fuse. Usually through it Plug-code memory controllers.
Contact "31" - "mass" through which users are connected to the "weight" of the car to complete the circuit. The wires are brown braid.
Contact "49" is responsible for the system of indicators and alarms. Wire colors - black and green stripes with additional different color.
Contact "50" - through it when starting voltage is applied to the starter. The main color of the wires - purple.
Contact "53" is responsible for the wiper.
Contact "56" is responsible for the power supply to the lights dim light through the yellow wire on the main beam headlamps through wires white.
Contact "58" is responsible for the parking and tail lights, and the lighting of the plate. Primary color braided wire - gray, each with an additional strip of a different color.
Contact "61" charge control lamp of gymnastics (?D +?), wire color - blue.
Contact "87" is usually supplied as a contact "15", but after the relay, for example, overvoltage protection.
Contact wire connectors
For a long time, according to statistics from ADAC, disconnect the connectors are one of the most frequent causes of faults, and nearly all vehicles. Against this disaster that occurs most often after six years of operation, the company Mercedes has used several innovations. First of all, the car used by a lot of expensive silver-plated circular connectors. Plug combs have additional mechanical protection. It is clear that for the separation of compounds of this protection must be overcome. So it or a clamp or two side latches that must compress to disconnect connector. Some tips are provided with pivoting or spring clamps. If possible, connectors and tools are well protected against moisture.

When removing the upholstery can be seen coming from the battery power cord (1) space for the driver's feet; shaft (2) of the steering wheel with an extension cord for an adjustable steering column; red connector (3) to the airbag

To summarize the current from the battery set back in the engine bay to the positive terminal of the battery connected to the red power wire with a cross section of large area (Fig. 9.37). Then he goes in the large (50 mm2) black wire, padded tunnel propeller shaft, and ends with a 3-pin connection (X4) in the vicinity of the accelerator pedal.
From there, go to the starter wire, and other nodes, to the ignition fuse box, module lighting, generator, heating and lighting a pin (X 12/3) in the engine compartment. The pin connector is installed as a capacitor (C2) for suppressing interference.
