Removing and installing starter






Disclaimer starter can be caused by several factors, such as jam or wear of the traction relay or brushes, bearing wear. From repair faulty starter should be abandoned. As a rule, it must be replaced.

SEQUENCE OF WORK
Diesel engines
Withdrawal
1. Remove the wire from the negative terminal of the battery.

A WARNING
When disconnecting the battery is erased memory (eg radio code) of the electron-storage devices.

2. Removal is best done from the bottom of the car, which raise and support the vehicle.
3. Remove the bottom protection of a motor compartment.
4. Remove from the starter wiring.
5. Remove the wire clips and holders.
6. Remove the starter mounting bolts (tightening torque during assembly 42 Nm).

7. Remove the starter (Fig. 9.13) down.
8. When assembling pay attention to the correct location and attachment supplied to the starter wire.
Gasoline engines
Withdrawal
1. Remove the wire from the negative terminal of the battery.

2. Removal is best done from the bottom of the car, which raise and support the vehicle.
3. Remove the bottom protection of a motor compartment.
The V6 engine
4. Remove mounting shield the propeller shaft in the area of the starter.
The V8 engine of release till 08.1997
5. Remove the two screws and remove the shield around the starter.
6. Remove the front exhaust pipe exhaust system with catalytic converter.
The V6 engine
7. Remove only the first forward pipe with catalytic converter.
The V8 engine of release till 08.1997
8. Bottom unscrew bolts and remove the right engine support.

9. Disconnect 1 (Fig. 9.14), contact "30" and the wire 2 contacts "50".
10. Remove the bolts and remove an arm 4 wires.
11. Remove the bolts fastening the flange 3 starter.

A WARNING
On engines V6 and V8 between the starter and the engine block is one or more goals. This place is situated mudguard. To ease assembly record number of goals and their location.

12. Remove a starter downwards.
Setting
13. Install the starter to the engine. On engines V6 and V8 install washers between the starter and the engine block, and the mud shield.
14. Replace the starter mounting bolts to 40 N ?� m.
15. Connect to the starter wire 1 contact "30" by tightening the fastening torque of 15 Nm, and 2 wire terminals "50" by tightening the fastening torque of 5 Nm.
16. Establish an arm 4 wires.
The V8 engine of release till 08.1997
17. Lower the engine and fix it the right front foot.
18. Fix the shield starter.
The V6 engine
19. Fix the shield propeller shaft in the area of the starter.
All engines
20. Establish the bottom casing of the engine compartment.
21. Connect the cable to the negative terminal of the battery.
22. Set the clock and enter the code anti-theft system for radio.
