Generator

Apparatus generator
Fig. 9.4. The device generator: 1 - a pulley belt drive; 2 - Fan; 3 - bearing cover on the drive side of the generator; 4 - a stator; 5 - connecting bolt; 6 - a rotor with contact rings; 7 - the rear support cover; 8 - rectifier block with diodes; 9 - plastic cover; 10 - the voltage regulator with a brush holder

The generator - a source of energy in the car (fig. 9.4). With the engine running, he provides electricity to all units and charges the battery. Depending on the model and configuration on the E-Class cars can be fitted AC generators of various capacities.
Power indicated on the label generator. He is driven by the motor belt. The generator produces alternating current. As for the battery needs constant current to be turned into a permanent unit installed on semiconductor diodes. The latter are very sensitive to high voltages.
