Checking the voltage regulator






SEQUENCE OF WORK
1. Connect the meter between the positive terminal of the generator (red wire) and "weight".
2. Run the engine for two minutes at a frequency of 3000-4000 min -1, the generator has reached operating temperature (about +80 ?� C).
3. Turn the marker light, the radio or a fan. This corresponds to a load of 3-7 A. The voltage across the regulator should be within 13,0-14,6 V.
4. If the device indicates a higher voltage, the controller is faulty, replace it. If the voltage is below these values, worn brushes. In this case, remove the generator and repair workshop.
