Check condition of protective covers of power shafts

PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. The protective covers of power shafts are very important elements, as they protect the constant velocity joints (CV joints) from falling on them dirt, water and other foreign objects that cause damage. Outside contamination of protective covers oils and greases can cause premature failure of the material covers, it is recommended to periodically wash the covers with soap and water.

2. Inspect the covers for breaks and cracks and loose clamps. In the event of signs of cracks or leaks grease cover must be replaced.

3. At the same time, check the general condition of constant velocity joints, holding a shaft and simultaneously trying to turn the wheel. Please try again, holding the internal hinge of equal angular speeds and turning a shaft. Any appreciable gap indicates wear of the joint, the wear grooves in the shaft or unscrewing the lock nut shaft.
