Removing and installing drive shafts of front axle

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Remove the brake caliper and the brake disk (see chap. Brakes and auxiliary systems).
  2. Remove the steering damper actuator.
  3. Remove the slave cylinder drive differential lock (see. Section Removal, installation and adjustment of the slave cylinder and components of the drive lock brake differential).
  4. Release retaining castle nut and press out of the pivot arm tie rod end (1). Assess the tip, if necessary, prepare a replacement.
  5. Preliminary measurements of the length of the stop bolt of restricting the rotation wheel, detach the holder of the sealing element (2).
  6. Remove the upper bolt of the wheel axis of rotation (3) and immediately tie him shim (9).
  7. Bottom remove the pivot arm (4) - also tie him to the shim (10).
  8. Remove the hinge cover assembly with the drive shaft (5), - tie tapered roller bearings to the pivot bolt / lever.
  9. Remove the drive shaft seal (7).
  10. Remove the bushing (8).
  11. Priboltite locking key (717 589 00 31 00) to the wheel hub (6) and clamp it in a vise.
  12. Remove the protective cover.
  13. Unlock and release the hub outer nut.
  14. Remove the lock plate.
  15. Release the inner slotted nut and release the drive shaft of the swivel casing, - try not to damage the rotor wheel gauge ABS.
  16. Carefully wipe any parts and visually assess their condition, - if necessary, prepare a replacement.
  17. Installation is in the reverse order - remember that welt nuts must be replaced without fail. Before installation, be sure to fill the hub grease protective cover for chassis.
  18. Finally, make the adjustment wheel and swivel bearings (see. Categories adjustment wheel bearings front axle and the Adjusting bearing swivel units) and the wheel alignment (see chap. Suspension and steering).
