Accessory drive belt
Belt drive power steering pump Removing the belt is performed in the following order: - Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery; - Brake the car a lay brake; - Raise the front of the car and set it on the stand; - Remove the air filter; - Remove the top casing of the engine (AFN); - Turn the front wheels all the way to the right. To improve access to the accessory drive belt, remove the front right wheel; - Loosen the screws power steering pump and turn the pump around the top support to the engine; - Remove the V-belt pulley power steering pump; - Inspect the V-belt for damage and replace it if necessary. Installing the V-belt is performed in reverse order of removal. V-belt tension on early models is regulated by tension bolts. To do this, loosen the nuts and bolts fixing the power steering pump. Turn the adjusting screw to set the required belt tension and tighten the retaining bolt. Tighten the nuts and bolts of the pump. In later models, change the belt tension by rotating the adjusting bolt at which the rotation of the pump housing. After adjustment, tighten the lock nut tightening mechanism. Recheck belt tension after cranking the crankshaft two full turns. Flat alternator drive belt Removing the flat belt in the following order: - Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery; - Raise the front of the car and set it on the stand; - Turn the front wheels all the way to the right and remove the right front wheel; - Remove the plastic air ducts located in the area of the right front wheel; - On vehicles equipped with an auxiliary booster is necessary to remove the V-shaped belt drives the power steering pump; - Note in the flat belt direction of travel. For vehicles equipped with an automatic tensioning Using an adjustable wrench, turn the lever of the tensioner roller clockwise and move the roller to the maximum distance from the drive belt. For vehicles not equipped with automatic tensioning Turn the alternator mounting bolts 1-2 turns; against the spring, turn around the top of the generator support. For all vehicles Remove the flat belt from the alternator pulley and then the remaining pulleys. Installation and tension of the flat belt in the following order: in accordance with the label directions of movement of the flat belt, set it on the crankshaft pulley so that the edges of the belt hit the corresponding grooves of the pulley; For vehicles equipped with an automatic tensioning

Using an adjustable wrench, turn the lever of the tensioner roller clockwise against the spring (Fig. 3.68); Install the accessory drive belt pulleys in the following order: water pump, air conditioning compressor and the generator; remove the wrench. The mechanism will produce a tension auxiliary drive belt. For vehicles not equipped with automatic tensioning Turn around the top of the generator support to complete the spring and make sure that it is free to return to its original position. Otherwise, loosen the bolts for another half-turn; Turn around the top of the generator support to complete the spring and install the accessory drive belt on alternator pulley, and then release the generator. This will cause the drive belt tension; connect the battery and run the engine for 10 seconds at idle; Turn off the engine and apply the bottom first and then the upper bolts of the generator required torque. For all vehicles Where available, install an auxiliary V-shaped belt drives the power steering pump; set into place plastic ducts; Install the right front wheel and remove the car from the stands.
