The mechanism of a tension of a gear belt

Removing the timing belt tensioner in the following sequence:
- Remove the pin stop solenoid valve of the engine;
- Remove the accessory drive belt;
- Set the number 1 cylinder piston at TDC compression stroke (see. Sect. 3.3.3);

Details Timing
Fig. 3.64. Details of the timing: 1 - the lower timing cover; 2 - the crankshaft pulley; 3 - accessory drive belt; 4 - bolt crankshaft pulley; 5 - bolt crankshaft pulley; 6 - toothed timing belt; 7 - a tension roller toothed timing belt; 8 - a bolt of fastening of a tension roller; 9 - the bolts of the upper timing cover; 10 - the upper timing cover; 11 - Back Cover timing; 12 - Rear pump mounting bracket; 13 - pump; 14 - front bracket fuel pump; 15 - a gear pump pulley; 16 - a pulley of an intermediate shaft; 17 - a bolt of fastening of a pulley of an intermediate shaft; 18 - a gear pulley of a cranked shaft; 19 - the lower timing cover (for the fully closed actuator); 20 - the upper timing cover (for the fully closed actuator); 21 - Back Cover timing (for the fully closed actuator)

- Remove the top 10 or 20 (see. Fig. 3.64) and the lower 1 or 19, timing cover;

Toothed timing belt
Fig. 3.66. Toothed timing belt: 1 - camshaft sprocket; 2 - toothed timing belt; 3 - the guide roller toothed timing belt; 4 - a gear pump pulley; 5 - a pulley of an intermediate shaft; 6 - tensioner toothed timing belt; 7 - a tension roller toothed timing belt; 8 - label; 9 - the nut of the tensioner roller hub; 10 - Radius key

- Loosen the nut 9 (see. Fig. 3.66) hub mounting tension roller mechanism, while the eccentric tensioning mechanism rotates counterclockwise, and the toothed belt tension is reduced;
- Unscrew the nut 9 and remove the gear mechanism 6 tension the timing belt.
Install the timing belt tensioner is performed in sequence of return to removal. After installation, you need to adjust the belt tension.
On engines with semi-automatic tensioning toothed belt to check the tension of it, click on the upper part of the return run of a gear belt from a camshaft pulley. This mark 8 (see. Fig. 3.66) on the roller 7 tension mechanism has to move from the label on the hub tension mechanism. When released, the toothed belt marks must be aligned again.
