Check the operation of the hydraulic tappets

The design of the hydraulic tappets not imply any adjustments in engine operation. However, if in the process of excessive noise can be heard, they can be checked as follows:
- Start the engine and warm it up to operating temperature;
- Switch off the engine and remove the cylinder head cover (see. Section 3.3.15);
- Rotate the crankshaft pulley bolt for the crankshaft so that the camshaft lobe is the first cylinder pointing upwards;
- Using the dipstick, check the clearance between the base of the cam and hydraulic tappet and if the gap is greater than 0.1 mm, the hydraulic pusher is defective and must be replaced;
- If the gap is less than 0.1 mm, using a wooden or plastic tool, click on the top of a hydraulic pusher, so that he came into contact with the top of the valve stem;
- If the course of a hydraulic pusher is greater than 1 mm, the hydraulic pusher is defective and should be replaced.

A WARNING
After installing the hydraulic tappets run the engine for at least 30 minutes, as otherwise may be an impact of pistons with valves.
