Automatic transmission

On the car can be set four-speed automatic transmission with electronic control.

Selector of an automatic transmission
Fig. 1.22. Selector of an automatic transmission 1 - the switch of modes of movement; 2 - select lever; 3 - lock button selector lever

Selecting the motion is carried out 1 switch (Fig. 1.22). There are two driving modes - Economy ?E? and sports ?S?. Switching can be performed while driving.
When the economy mode movement (?E?) primarily includes a higher and then a lower gear, thereby reducing fuel consumption.
In sport mode (?S?) primarily includes lower and then higher gears. In this mode, a full engine power is used. Downshift is carried out at a higher speed of the crankshaft of the engine compared to the regime ?E?.
The specified mode is maintained even after the engine has stopped. Edit mode, you can only switch.
Failure of electronic control automatic transmission can operate in emergency mode on the two programs:
- Transmission shifts gears, as before, but it requires additional mechanical forces;
- Gearbox does not operate in automatic mode.
In the second case, you can switch to mechanical switching mode, but in the provisions of ?D?, ?3" and "2" (see. Fig. 22) will be enabled only third gear. 2 If the selector is in position "1" or "R", the transmission is in normal operation, i.e. It turns on the first or reverse gear. In both cases, you need to consult a service station.
Ignition 2 gear selection lever in position ?P? or ?N? is blocked. This is to prevent accidental activation of the transmission. To unlock the lever 2 press the brake pedal and press 3.
Special locking device prevents the lever in position ?N? when shifting gears, for example ?R? on ?D?. Blocking is activated when the brake pedal released the lever 2 is in position ?N? of more than 1 s. At speeds above 5 km / h lock lever in position ?N? automatically turns off.
The provisions of the selector lever (see. Fig. 1.22):
- "P" ("Parking"). This position should be selected only when the vehicle is stopped. The drive wheels are blocked and prevent movement of the vehicle. Also, you must apply the parking brake. It does not install the lever in position ?P? when driving. Track 2 is transferred to the position ?P? and removed from it while pressing the button 3;
- ?R? (?Reverse"). This position should be selected if the vehicle is stopped and the engine is idling. To translate the select lever 2 from the position "P" or ?N? to position ?R?, press the brake pedal and the 3 button on the lever. When installing the lever 2 in position ?R? when the ignition light bulb reverse gear;
- ?N? (?Neutral?). This position should be selected at start-up and operation of the engine at idle. To unlock the gear selection lever 2 in position ?N? when the vehicle speed to 5 km / h or the vehicle is stationary with the ignition, press the brake pedal and button 3 on the lever;
- ?D? (?Moving Forward"). In this position, depending on the engine load, speed and movement mode is selected ("E" or "S") is automatically switched from one to four forward gears;
- "3" is recommended for driving on rough roads. In this position of the lever depending on the engine load, vehicle speed and the selected mode ("E" or "S") are automatically transmitting the second or third, fourth gear is locked. It is recommended to set to "3" if the chosen position ?D? switching frequency increases from fourth to third gear and vice versa;
- "2", it is recommended to move into the highlands. This state is selected when driving without a trailer on the roads of ascent or descent in the mountains or at a speed of 40 km / h. In this position, depending on engine load and speed of the selected mode ("E" or the ?S?) is automatically included only the first and second gear;
- "1" is recommended for driving on roads with steep slopes. 2 To set the lever to this position, press 3 on it. The car will only move in first gear.
An automatic transmission device has a compulsory inclusion of low transmission kick-down. It allows the box to automatically switch to a lower gear if the beadle has pressed the accelerator all the way, and the load on the engine continues to increase. Switching to a higher gear takes place after the engine speed of the engine becomes maximum.
Recommendations for use of the vehicle with an automatic transmission:
1. The engine can be started only in position ?N? or "P" selector lever.
2. Before switching lever on the car is stationary with the engine running depress the brake pedal. When switching lever, do not press the accelerator pedal. If, during the movement of the car accident will be established position ?N?, before switching to forward gear, release the accelerator pedal and switch lever only when the engine is idling.
3. Before driving, set the desired position of the lever (?R?, ?D?, ?3", "2" or "1"), make sure the transfer is included (light jerk), and gently press the accelerator pedal.
4. In brief stops can not translate the lever in position ?N?, and it is enough to slow down and move the engine to idle.
5. When parking the vehicle on a horizontal platform 2 move the lever to position "P". On the ground with a slope further engage the parking brake.
6. When towing the vehicle ignition must be turned on, and the lever must be in position ?N?. Towing distance should not exceed 80 km, and the vehicle speed - 50 km / h, as there may be damage to the parts of the box due to insufficient lubrication. If necessary, move the car at a greater distance is necessary to resort to using a tow truck.
