Engine cooling system

WARNINGS

2. Do not allow coolant to the skin, clothing and body paint, otherwise wash the surface with plenty of water.

Coolant expansion tank
Fig. 1.57. Coolant expansion tank

Coolant level. For normal operation of the engine coolant level should be between the ?MIN? and ?MAX? the expansion tank. On the cold engine coolant level in the expansion tank should be at the level of mark ?MIN?, in the hot - ?MAX?. The expansion tank is coolant level sensor which, when emergency lowering coolant warning light in the instrument cluster. Under normal conditions, the vehicle and the tightness of the cooling system almost does not require additional maintenance. As used antifreeze coolant based on ethylene glycol with a corrosion inhibitor.
Checking the tightness of the cooling system. Coolant leaks can be identified by the presence of plaque in white. Inflection and compressing hoses, check their elasticity and cracks. Check for loose hoses and hose systems.
The rapid decline in the cooling liquid, the presence of oil in it, and also the appearance of white smoke from the exhaust indicate "burn-out" of the cylinder head gasket, which must be replaced.
Cooling fan motor turns on automatically signal the coolant temperature sensor. After stopping the engine warm electric fan can be operated for about 10 minutes. After turning off the ignition switch of the fan is possible with an increase in engine temperature.

A WARNING
If the coolant temperature is high and the fan does not need to check and if necessary replace the fuse of the fan. If the fan is switched on again, contact a service station and car repair.
