Expansion tank (Fig. 1.56), the power steering is located in the engine compartment near the battery. Before checking the fluid level in the expansion tank should: - Place the vehicle on a flat surface; - Set the front wheels in the straight-ahead position; - Stop the engine. The fluid level can be seen through the walls of the tank. It must be between the ?�MIN?� and ?�MAX?�. Additionally tank cover is formed integrally with the liquid level gauge. If the engine is warm, the fluid level should be close to the label ?�MAX?�, if a cold - ?�MIN?�, then exceed it. The power steering in cars manufactured before February 1989 applied liquid Dexron II ATF, on models of future issues - a special oil for hydraulic transmission VW G 002 000.
