This procedure is one of those whose implementation does not require the removal of the engine from the car.

Dismantling and maintenance components

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Remove all impeding the implementation of the procedure components (see. Illustration Dismounting components when removing the power unit), - refer to the content of the relevant sections in this chapter, as well as Chapters Systems of cooling, heating, ventilation and air conditioning, power supply system, motor control / Emission Exhaust gas and exhaust and systems of electric motor.
  2. Remove the gas distribution belt (see. Section Checking and replacing the timing belt at Chapter Current leaving and service), and the timing components (see. Section Removal and installation of components of timing).
  3. Disconnect the cylinder head intake manifold and exhaust manifold.
  1. Acting strictly in a certain order, let go of the cylinder head bolts. Finally, turn out fixing bolts and remove the head, pre obstuchal the perimeter interface with power hammer with soft brisk. Remove head gasket.

  2. Unscrew and remove the glow plugs, remove them wiring (see chap. Current care and maintenance).
  3. Inspect the head for signs of leaks, cracks, cavities in the mating surfaces and other mechanical damage. With the probe type and the blade flatness meter (set at the edge of a steel ruler) evaluate the degree of deformation of mating with the cylinder block, the intake manifold and the exhaust manifold surfaces of the head. Compare results of measurements to requirements of Specifications of the Head of Engine. Defective head must be replaced.

Restoration of the flatness of the mating surfaces of the cylinder head by mechanical processing in any case is not admissible!


Measurement of the deformation of the mating surface of the cylinder block head is made in six areas.

  1. Acting strictly in order, release the bolts of covers of bearings of a camshaft.
  1. Remove the lid and remove the camshaft.
  1. Remove the valve tappets with shims - when assembling all the components should be established strictly on the former places.
  1. Carefully wipe the bed head and bearing caps, then lay a camshaft on the regular place and measure the size of its axial play.

If the result is within the range of 1.55 ÷ 2.55 mm, set on a plate valve spring washer equivalent. If the valve seat depth exceeds 2.55 mm, the cylinder head must be replaced.

  1. Assess removed from the engine valves. In case of signs of wear, deformation and other mechanical damage plates or rods replace the defective components.

Slight burrs can be removed from the surfaces of the rods by means of a grindstone.

  1. Lubricate the valve seat with a thin layer of red lead and, without turning, push it to the valve plate. Remove the valve and left on the surface of his working facet should assess the density of its pressing into the seat.

  1. Armed with a bore gauge (1), measure the inside diameter valve guides.
  1. By subtracting the results of the first series of measurements from the corresponding results of the second series, determine the amount of movement of planting valve guide bushings. Compare the results of calculations to requirements of Specifications of the Head of engine, if necessary, replace the guides.
  1. With the help of a special device beat out guides from their landing slots in the head in the opposite side of the placement of the combustion chambers.
  1. Put the new guide sleeve lock ring and with the help of a special device zastuchite sleeve in the mounting slot in the head, working from the opposite side of the placement of the combustion chambers, - a lock ring must completely hide in the landing nest.

Pay attention to the structural differences between the guides, intake and exhaust valves.

  1. After finishing the installation of new guides, repeat measurement of backlashes in their respective landing flaps.

Installing the valve stem seals should be made after completion of the fitting of valves.

  1. Measure external diameters of pushers, write down the measurements. If the result is outside the permitted range replace the faulty components.
  1. Measure the internal diameter of the socket (2) for planting the pushers (1) in the casting head. Record the results. By subtracting the results of the first measurement of the results to determine the value of second landing backlash pushers. Compare results of measurements to requirements of Specifications Gdavy engine, if necessary, replace the corresponding pushers / cylinder head.
  1. Measure the height of the cams of the camshaft, - if the result of any of the measurements is less than specified in the Specifications of the Head of engine limit, the shaft should be replaced.

  1. Place the tree in the prism and using the meter DTI check for bending. If the measurement exceeds the limit, replace the shaft.

Assembly

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Installation is the reverse order. Make sure that all components are fitted and lapped sets strict on their seats.
  1. When planting stem seals use the special holder, - do not forget to pre-lubricated motor oil caps.
  1. Rods valves before filling them into the guides also need to be lubricated - use molybdenum-containing lubricant landing crackers of cutting locks use special devices.
  2. When installing shims do not forget to apply oil on the end surfaces of the pushers.

  1. When installing the camshaft and lubricate his neck bearing bed clean motor oil, remember that planting camshaft bearing cap should be made on the sealant.
  1. Tightening the fastening bolts of covers performed after installing the camshaft and oil seal in the reverse order of their release.
