Removal and installation / check thermostat
The thermostat opens when heated engine coolant circuit flowing through the radiator. If the thermostat is due to a fault is closed, the engine is overheating. This is seen in increasing the index of temperature readings on the instrument panel, while the radiator remains cold. Defective thermostat may also remain in the open state after the cooling fluid. This is evident by the fact that the engine does not reach, or very slowly reaches its operating temperature, or winter heater does not reach its full capacity. | If the engine after a short trip gets hot, it may be that the radiator is clogged due to the deposition of lime, faulty fan or torn V-belt (except diesel). |
The thermostat located on the left side in the cylinder head for the inlet of cooling liquid. Withdrawal | - Drain coolant and collect it, see. Section Routine maintenance.
| - Disconnect the coolant hose after loosening and fully sliding collar.
|
- Disconnect connector -1- thermal switch. Switch is located on the exhaust pipe of a cooling liquid -3-.
- 2 Loosen the bolts and remove the outlet connection with seal -3- -4- -5- and thermostat.
|
|
Check | | - Slowly heat the thermostat in the tank with water. This thermostat should not touch the walls of the vessel. The thermostat must be completely submerged in water. Control the temperature suitable thermometer.
|
- At a temperature of + 82 ? C (diesel + 86 ? C) thermostat should begin to open.
 | Opening temperature depending on the thermostat can differ. Its value is in the oven. |
- At a temperature of 95 ? C (diesel + 100 ? C) the thermostat is fully open, it means that the valve must move away from the stop by at least 8.5 mm.
- Check that when the cooling thermostat is fully closed, otherwise it should be replaced.
|
|
Setting | - Insert the thermostat into the housing so that the pin located on the flap.
- Insert new gasket thermostat female side to the cylinder head.
- Tighten bolts with a force of 25 Nm.
- Connect the plug.
| - Connect the coolant hose and secure the clamp.
|
- Fill up with coolant, see. Section Routine maintenance.
- Warm up the engine and check the fittings for leaks, possibly gently tighten the bolts.
