Check / adjust throttle sensor
Vehicles with manual transmission Throttle position sensor should be checked when the engine is bad takes gas is unstable idling and reaches maximum capacity. Throttle position sensor should also be checked as part of maintenance. Check | - Disconnect the plug from the throttle position sensor.
| - Adjusted using the feeler gauge the distance between the stop bolt and throttle lever thrust.
|
| - Connect an ohmmeter to check the current flow between the terminals.
|
Engine | The thickness of the probe | Between contacts | Current flow | Yes | no | B6 up to 9/89 | 0.5 mm | IDL - TL | X | | PSW - TL | | X | 0.7 mm | IDL - TL | | X | PSW - TL | | X | OT, B6 10/89 BP | 0.1 mm | IDL - TL | X | | PSW - TL | | X | 1.0 mm | IDL - TL | | X | PSW - TL | | X | All | The shutter is fully open throttle | IDL - TL | | X | PSW - TL | X | |
- If the result of one of these measurements does not correspond to the desired value, the throttle position sensor should be adjusted.
- Connect the connector to the sensor.
|
|
Adjustment | - Disconnect the throttle position sensor.
- Connect an ohmmeter between terminals TL and the IDL.
- Adjust to the desired value of the distance between the throttle stop screw and thrust lever by a feeler gauge.
Required value: Up to 9/89 MY .: 0.5 mm 10/89: 0.4 mm
| - Loosen the bolts throttle position sensor.
|
- Turn the sensor 30 ? to the right and then turn back slowly until the ohmmeter does not begin to show the flow of current.
- Insert stop screw between throttle lever and hard probe thickness of 0.7 mm. Now, the terminals should not leak current. If current flows, the adjustment must be repeated.
- Tighten the two bolts with a force of 2 Nm.
 | Throttle position while tightening the bolts must not be rotated. |
- Several times to fully open the throttle with the accelerator pedal.
- Recheck the adjustment throttle sensor.
