Lapping Valves

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Even impeccably treated valve seats and new valves must be lapped to each other for optimum sealing. It should be taken into account especially in diesel engines.
  1. Valves can only get ground fine grinding paste. To rotate the valve is installed on the plate sucker. Education grooves in the lapping can be avoided, often pulling and turning the valve further.

After lapping, grinding paste should be removed completely.

  1. Lapping process is controlled by applying to the contact surface "Preussischblau" or "Bleiweiss", and by the fuel. Insert valves to fill the combustion chamber, fuel should flow to the valve guide. Otherwise, the process should be repeated lapping.
