- Clean the valves with a wire brush and scraper from the remnants of a deposit.
- Engine OT, B5, B6 (SOHC), BP (SOHC): Check the rocker arm shaft and rocker arm for the presence of grooves and wear.
- Lightly grease the valve stem and insert each valve to its old place. New valves should be pre-grind with the help of sanding paste. See Section Checking / adjusting valve clearance.
- Thoroughly clean all parts and lubricate the moving parts with engine oil.
- Be sure to replace the valve stem seals.
- Insert the valves in the cylinder head. Ensure that the intake and exhaust valves were installed in the correct order.
