Withdrawal

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Disconnect earth cable from the battery.

This data is erased from the memory of malfunctions of the engine or a protective code of a radio receiver. Before disconnecting the battery should read instructions in Section Removal and installation of the battery.

  1. To lift the car and remove the right front wheel.
  2. Remove the bottom cover of the engine on the right wheel niche.
  3. If there is, remove the V-belt servo pump and air conditioning compressor. See section Removing and installing / belt tension.
  4. Loosen the bolts of the water pump pulley.
  5. Remove the V-belt of the generator. See Section Removal and installation / belt tension.
  6. Unscrew the bolts of the water pump pulley and remove the pulley.

Before 2/91, the no.

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Lock the crankshaft, and to unscrew bolts of the crankshaft pulley.
  2. To lock the crankshaft include 5th transfer and ask the assistant to press the brake pedal.
  3. Remove the washer, the crankshaft pulley, the outer and inner guide toothed belt drives.

Since 3/91 MY.

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Unscrew the bolts of the crankshaft pulley. Hold the neck of the pulley special tool MAZDA SST 49 D 011102.
  2. Pull the rod to measure the oil level.
  1. Unscrew the upper, middle and lower casings of a gear belt.
  1. Remove the spark plug, see. Chapter Introduction.
  2. To establish the piston of 1st cylinder in the ignition position. To do this, rotate the crankshaft to coincide labels on a belt pulley of a cam with labels on timing cover.
  3. For cranking include 5th transfer and to move the vehicle on a level surface. Another possibility Crank: Raise the front wheel, turn 5th gear and turn the wheel by hand.

After the piston of 1st cylinder will be in the ignition, set the transmission to neutral and again, check whether the marks on the belt pulley and the crankshaft timing gear cover. If the labels are the same, in any case no longer rotate the crankshaft.

  1. If the old timing belt will be installed again, it should be marked. On the belt should be applied to the arrow indicating the direction of rotation. The crankshaft rotates in the clockwise direction.
  1. Loosen the bolt of a tension roller and a tension roller to press in the direction of the arrow until the timing belt is not weakened. Tighten the bolt of a tension roller.

When you put a rag roller push-ups, so as not to damage the toothed belt or a tension roller.

  1. Remove the timing belt, then the situation is not changing gears.

Setting

Do not bend or twist the timing belt. Dirty, damaged or worn timing belt replaced in any case. Check the uniformity and ease of movement of the tension roller.

If the camshaft rotates at the removed gear belt, any piston should not be in the TDC position. Otherwise, you may cause serious damage to the pistons and valves. If you want to rotate the crankshaft, after all pistons should be set at half the height. To do this, put on top of the gear crank chalk line (condition: the crankshaft is at TDC of the piston of 1st cylinder), then turn the wheel of the crankshaft 1/2 turn left or right. Marking chalk is in the horizontal position.

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Ensure that the camshaft is in the position corresponding to the TDC of cylinder 1. This must match the label on the wheel of the camshaft and the marks on the timing gear cover.
  2. Check whether the marks on the camshaft gear and the engine block.
  3. Apply the toothed belt so that the branch between the wheel and the exhaust camshaft gear, crankshaft was stretched. If you install the old belt, pay attention to the direction of rotation.

When setting the position of the toothed belt camshaft and crankshaft must not be changed. Otherwise, the engine can cause serious malfunction or engine will not develop its maximum power.

  1. Ensure that the camshafts are located in a position corresponding to the TDC of cylinder 1. This should match the marks on the camshaft gears with the marks on the timing gear cover and cylinder head.
  1. Simultaneously must match marks on the crankshaft gear and the cylinder block. Then the engine is in the TDC position of the piston of cylinder 1.
  2. Crank twice the rotational direction and again to verify that the label, if necessary, repeat the adjustment.
  1. Turn the engine in direction of rotation up to the mark of tension, which is about 60 to mark TDC.
  1. Loosen the bolt of the tension roller, the roller rests on the belt.
  2. Tighten the tension wheel with a force of 45 Nm.
  3. Twice rotate the crankshaft in the direction of rotation and re-check the adjustment.
  4. Check toothed belt tension. Toothed belt in the area between the two camshaft pulleys when exposed to a force of 10 kg, which is equivalent to pressing the thumb, should cave in the 9 - 11 mm. If the value does not meet the requirement, loosen the tension roller and tighten it again.
  5. Screw the upper, middle and lower casings of a gear belt with a force of 10 Nm.
  1. Install the inner and outer guide wheels toothed belt according to the recesses on the wheel of the crankshaft. Observe the installation position.

Before 2/91, the no.

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Install the crankshaft pulley and the washer and tighten the bolts with a torque of 15 Nm.

With 3 / 91g. Vol.

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Set bolt crankshaft pulley. Hold the neck of the pulley special tool
  2. MAZDA SST 49D011102 and tighten the bolts to 165 Nm.
  3. Install the water pump pulley and tighten bolts with effort of a hand.
  4. Install the V-belt, see. Section Removal and installation / belt tension.
  5. Tighten the water pump pulley with a force of 10 Nm.
  6. Install spark plugs and plug caps, see. Chapter Introduction.
  7. Screw the panel on the right wheel niche.
  8. Insert dipstick.
  9. Install the front wheel and lower the car.
  10. Connect the earth cable to the battery.
  11. If available, set the clock and set the security code radio.
  12. Check ignition timing and adjust if necessary, see. Chapter Ignition system, Section Checking / adjusting the moment of ignition.
