Valve guide

During repair work on the cylinder head with leaking valves or valve replacement treatment and the valve seat is not enough. It is necessary to check the wear of valve guides.

It is especially important to check the engine with a long service life.

Worn valve guides do not provide the centricity of the valve seat and leads to increased oil consumption. If the wear is too high, replace the valve guides (job for the garage).
PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Remove the valve.
2. Clean the valve guide (1/2) of the cylindrical brush (diameter 20 mm).
3. Insert the valve from the combustion chamber into the guide and check valve clearance lateral movement back and forth. This should not be felt a noticeable gap. (1 - a guide for the exhaust valve, 2 - the guide for the intake valve, and - a spring retaining ring.)
4. If necessary, replace the valve guides (job for the garage).
