Battery - energy storage

Inside the battery chemical processes by which it generates and stores energy. At current output energy of a chemical reaction is converted into electrical energy. The most important function of the battery - to provide power for the starter motor starting. Depending on the model of the engine and the starter is started, the power consumption can be 5000 watts. It is also associated with losses to overcome friction forces for cranking warm engine - the starter is needed only a fifth of this power consumption is growing at a low temperature, because then the lubricants harden.
