Cooling system

Liquid cooling system includes a radiator, expansion tank, centrifugal water pump and thermostat.

Water pump

The water pump is mounted on the right side of the cylinder block. For vehicles manufactured before 1985 drive water pump is a V-belt, which simultaneously drives a generator. On vehicles manufactured since 1985 - Banded belt, resulting in rotation and other auxiliary units of the engine.

V-belt drive generator

The belt tension is adjusted by moving the generator.

The belt tension is automatically adjusted by moving the tension roller. On engines M 102 for the initial belt tension adjuster must be combined with the projection of the 7th label (or 5 minutes for cars without power steering) of the tension wheel.

Fan

Engine M 102

Fan drive shaft is carried out of the water pump, and its activation and deactivation - electromagnetic clutch controlled by a temperature sensor or thermodynamic coupling.
