:20. Kolenval- installation and check of backlashes of radical bearings

1. Place the unit so that the bottom portion facing up. On 4-cylinder engines, install an oil separator with a mesh (photo).

2. Remove the bolts of covers, get covers and spread out them as their installation.
Remove the lids of the cylinder liners and the old main bearing caps and wipe and clean bed.
3. Clean the exterior surface of new radical loose leaves with oil flutes, and put them in the bed of the cylinder. Appropriate response pads attach to the cap. Make sure that the protrusion on the insert coincides with the sample on the unit or on the cover, in addition, the oil passage hole in the bed of the cylinder must be aligned with the hole in the liner (photos).

Attention!
Do not install the liner at locations with a hammer and scratching during installation.
At this stage, the liner is not lubricated.

4. On engines V6 liner flange is installed in the rear cover and bed cylinder, 4-cylinder engines a liner is installed in the middle cover.

5. Install the crankshaft and measure backlashes in radical loose leaves. To do this, put the segment on the gauge of the wire on each radical neck crank parallel to its axis (see photo). Clean the surface of loose leaves in covers, establish covers and tighten bolts in three steps with the set moment in the specified sequence (see photo). Remove the bolts and gently lift the lid, compare a thickness of each of the crushed wire to a scale on packing and define backlash size (see photo).
6. If the clearance is not correct, the reason may be the wrong selection of dimensional group of loose leaves. Make sure that the measurements between bearings and surfaces of covers there were no pollution, or oil. If the width of the crushed wire on the ends strongly differs, the radical neck crankshaft has a taper.
7. Remove from necks the remains of the wire and remove the crankshaft.
8. Lubricate the main journals of the crankshaft and set the block. Place the lid on the former places so that arrows have been turned towards the front of the engine. On 4-cylinder engines mounted on the rear cover sealant (photo).

9. Tighten the bolts in three steps with the set moment.
10. Install the pilot bearing in the crankshaft (in the a / m with manual gearbox).
11. Check up freedom of rotation of the crankshaft.
12. Check the axial play of the crankshaft (see. Above).
13. On 4-cylinder engines, set the side seals (photo).
