Connecting rods and pistons - installation and check connecting rod bearing clearances
1. Before installing the piston assembly from the cylinder rods must be absolutely clean, from the edges of the cylinder shall be blunted, and the crankshaft is installed in the engine block. 2. Wipe the upper rear surface of the new connecting rod bearing and place it in place in the connecting rod. Make sure that the protrusion on the insert went into the sample in a rod and lubricant apertures aligned (photo). The insert is not lubricated. Similarly, set the rod cover the bottom insert. 3. Place joints of piston rings in accordance with the scheme (see photo). 4. 5. Turn the crankshaft to the bottom dead center in the first cylinder, lubricate the cylinder walls with oil for the engine. 6. Align the piston so that the mark F or PUNCHING (on engines V6) were facing the front of the engine (photo). 7. Carefully insert the lower part of the piston rod into the first cylinder to the stop device for compression rings in the engine block. 10. Carefully remove the remnants of the caliber of grease liners and crankshaft journal, replace the cover and tighten the nuts evenly to the specified torque. 11. Repeat these steps for the other rods. 12. After the final installation of pistons with rods, Check up freedom of rotation of the crankshaft. 13. Check the axial play of the connecting rod (see.
