Kolenval- status check
1. Rinse the crankshaft solvent and dry, clean oil channels, neck and remove the burrs (photo). 2. Check the shaft necks. Measure the diameter of the necks in several places and determine the taper and ovality (photo). Check the crankshaft run-out setting in the prism. 3. If there is damage to the shaft journal, and if the roundness, taper, and deterioration of necks exceed the established limits, the shaft should be reground and replace the main and connecting rod bearings repair. 4. If on necks under the seals formed by developing a deep groove working edge of the gland, there are scratches or other damage, it is recommended to replace the crankshaft.
