Starter
The starter motor is a direct current with the mixed excitation with an electromagnetic driving relay. The starter consists of a body or stator windings excitation armature Freewheel, covers with brush holder and the traction relay.
The starter is activated by pulling the starter relay coil current begins to flow from the battery. Anchor switch is pulled, and the relay contacts are closed. Simultaneously the relay anchor through the lever moves the overrunning clutch with the gear. Hub freewheel turns screw slots armature shaft starter gear rotates as well, making it easier to enter it into engagement with the flywheel. Through the closed contact magnetic switch is current feeding the stator winding and the armature, the armature and the starter starts to rotate along with the hub, and the overrunning clutch.
After starting the engine speed exceeds the speed gear anchor of a starter. In this case the overrunning clutch turn freely and torque is transferred from the flywheel to the armature shaft of a starter. After releasing the ignition feed circuit winding traction relay through the ignition switch is opened, the anchor of the traction relay is wrung out by a spring in its original position, the relay opens and the drive gear is disengaged from the flywheel.
