| 1. Remove facing of the handbrake lever and the back of the center console. Adjusting nut (arrow) is located behind the handbrake lever. |
2. At least once, press the brake pedal to stop. |
3. Loosen the bolts of the rear wheels, then lift the rear of the car and fix on supports. Remove the rear wheels. |
4. Fully release the hand brake. |
Vehicles with rear disc brakes |
| 5. Turn the adjusting nut of the handbrake lever, place it in a position in which the distance between the handbrake lever and the caliper measurement probe (1) is not more than 1.5 mm. |
6. Tighten three times to stop the handbrake lever, with all the elements of a manual brake will be established in its place. |
7. Check that the lever is released the hand brake the rear wheels rotate freely. |
Cars with rear drum brakes |
8. Tighten the handbrake lever to four clicks. |
9. Turn the adjusting nut, place it in a position in which the rear wheels are turned with difficulty. |
10. Release the handbrake lever and check that the rear wheels rotate freely. If necessary, repeat the adjustment. |
11. Lower the car. |
12. Install the center console trim and handbrake lever. |
