eleven Overview



Cars Volkswagen Passat third and fourth generation model years 1988-1996 are an all-metal monocoque body type sedan and belong to Class D. In addition to the four-door sedan in the lineup include a five-door station wagon Variant. On vehicles depending on the version installed petrol or diesel engines ranging from 54 (75 hp) to 130 kW (174 hp) and four- and five-speed manual gearbox.
The layout of the front-wheel car. In September 1989, complemented the range of all-wheel drive Syncro variant with transmission equipped with viscous coupling.
Steering gear with rack and pinion can be equipped with hydraulic booster.
Independent front suspension. Semi-independent rear suspension with struts and trailing arms. Some models equipped with a system Variant stabilize the body.
Hydraulic dual-circuit brake system. On vehicles with engine capacity of less than 79 kW (107 hp) for the front wheels are applied disc brakes, rear - drum. On vehicles with more powerful engines to the front wheels are ventilated disc brakes, rear - disc.
Cars equipped with various additional equipment, which includes the central locking system, power windows and electric sunroof. More expensive equipment includes airbags, seatbelt tensioners, ABS and air conditioning. Figure 1.1 shows the instrument panel on the driver side. The package includes three key (Fig. 1.2): two main 1, which unlocks all the locks, and support 2, which unlocks the doors, the filler cap of the fuel tank and turn on the ignition.

On the plastic tags 3 attached to keys, suffered an identification number by which you can make a new set of keys in case of loss, so keep one key with the tag in a safe place.
