Removal, installation and maintenance of the oil pump

Details of the installation of the oil pump are shown in the

The design of the oil pump

1 - Screw
2 - Cover
3 - Outdoor Gear

4 - Internal gear
5 - Pressure Reducing Valve
6 - Front crankshaft oil seal
7 - The body of the pump assembly

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Dismantled components interfere with the procedure (see. The relevant sections in this chapter and Section Removal and installation of lubricators Chapter Current leaving and service).
  2. Remove the screws and remove the oil pump.
  3. Move the pump assembly on a bench, remove the seven fixing screws and remove the cover (1).
  1. Loosen the shock using a screwdriver, unscrew the screws and remove the back cover of the pump assembly.

Try if you release the screws not to damage the pump!

  1. Remove the inner and outer gears.
  2. Remove the retaining ring and remove the components of the pressure reducing valve (saddle, spring and plunger).
  3. Remove the gland - the gland must be replaced on a mandatory basis (see. Section Replacing crankshaft seals).
  4. Inspect the body and pump cover, in case of detection of cracks, deformation and other mechanical damage, replace defective components.
  5. Estimate degree of deterioration of the plunger assembly of the pressure reducing valve, in case of need make replacement.
  6. Check the condition of the valve spring assembly, in the case of defects, replace.
  7. Perform control measurements:
  • Measure the axial clearance of gears.
  • Measure the gap between the top of gear teeth and the crescent insert.
  • Measure the amount of movement of the outer landing gear in the chamber housing.
  1. Compare results of measurements to requirements of Specifications of the Head of engine, if necessary, make appropriate substitutions.
  2. Assemble in the reverse order of dismantle of components. Before boarding the pump assembly grease the new oil seal clean motor oil. Make sure that the fastening screws have been tightened with demanded effort.
  1. Lubricated with lithium grease type NGLI No2, replace the pump assembly of the new O-ring.
  1. Put on an interfaced surface of the pump assembly of continuous cushion sealant.
  2. Squeeze the pump to the engine and fix its bolts, having tightened last with demanded effort (M8 bolts: 16 ÷ 23 Nm bolts M10: 32 ÷ 47 Nm). Remove protruding over the edge of the joint sealant components.
  3. The further installation is made in the reverse order of dismantle of components. Do not forget to follow the requirements of Specifications of the Head engine to the efforts of a tightening of threaded fasteners.
  4. Fill the engine with fresh engine oil.
  5. Start the engine and check for any signs of leaks through joints installed components.
