Removing and installing thermostat
Petrol models Details setting of the thermostat assembly on petrol engines
| - Allow the engine to cool, then remove the radiator cap.
- Open the drain valve (see. and drain the coolant from the radiator into a suitable in terms of capacity, - if liquid appears fit for re-use, pour it in a sealed container.
- Release the two fixing screws and remove the cover of the thermostat. Remove the seal, - gasket must be replaced without fail.
- Remove thermostat- try to remember its adjusting position.
- Carefully smooth out interfaced surfaces of a cover of the thermostat and housing, replace the gasket.
- Track correctness of placing - the thermostat should be deployed valve pumping up - enclose dry rubbed thermostat housing.
- Screw the fixing nuts and tighten them to the required torque (22 Nm).
- Finally, season with a cooling system, start the engine and check for signs of coolant leaks.

Diesel models Details setting of the thermostat assembly on diesel engines
| - Installation is in the reverse order - pay attention to the following points:
- Make sure that the mating surfaces have been thoroughly cleaned, do not forget to prepare and replace the gasket;
- Ensure proper placement of the thermostat housing;
- Make sure that the cover bolts have been tightened with demanded effort;
- Refilling the Cooling System (see chap. Current leaving and service) started only in making sure all hoses are connected correctly;
- After installation, start the engine, warm it up to normal operating temperature and check for signs of leakage.
