Removing and installing / belt tension

If you install the old V-belt, it should always be checked for wear and damage. If the side surfaces are worn, there are cracks and ruptures, the belt in either case must be replaced. When installing make sure that the belt is correctly rests on all the pulleys.

Belt Alternator and water pump

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Loosen the adjusting screw and bolt.
  1. Tilt the generator to the engine and remove the V-belt.
  2. Apply a new belt and tighten the nut and locking screw.
  3. Check the tension between pulleys of the generator and water pump -strelka-. When exposed to a force of 100 N (10 kg), which roughly corresponds to pressing your thumb to measure the deflection of the belt, see the required values. Table.
Engine designation deflection in mm
new belt second-hand belt
E1, EZ, E5 12 - 13 13 - 14
OT, B5, B6 8 - 9 9 - 10
PN (Diesel) 9 - 10 10 - 10, 5
  1. Screw the adjusting bolt with a force of 25 Nm the bolt with 50Nm.

Belt pumps' (petrol)

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Loosen the lock nut and bolt.
  1. Turn the adjustment bolt so that you can remove the V-belt. Remove the V-belt.
  2. Apply the V-belt tension adjust bolt.
  3. Check the tension between the crankshaft pulley and the oil pump servo -strelka-. When exposed to a force of 100 N (10 kg), which is approximately equivalent to pressing the thumb, a new belt should deflect 8 - 9 mm, a used belt on 9 - 10 mm.
  4. Tighten the lock nut to 25 Nm, the bolt with a force of 45 Nm.

V-belt air conditioning compressor and the pumps' (petrol)

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Loosen the lock nut and bolt.
  1. Turn the adjustment bolt so that you can remove the V-belt. Remove the belt.
  2. Install new belt and adjust the tension of the adjusting screw.
