Removal and installation of the instrument panel
Withdrawal | - Disconnect earth cable from the battery.
 | This data is erased from the memory of malfunctions of the engine or a protective code of a radio receiver. Before disconnecting the battery should read instructions in Section Removal and installation of the battery. |
- Remove the steering wheel, see. Chapter suspension and steering system, Section Removal and installation of the steering wheel.
- Unscrew the top of the steering column trim and remove it. Sedan / Compact: Remove the lower trim of the steering column and the switch on the steering column.
- Unscrew the shaft nut on the gearbox the speedometer and tachometer shaft removed.
- Unscrew and remove the instrument panel visor.
- 9/85 - 9/89 MY .: disconnect the multi-plugs from the switchbox.
- Loosen the screws and carefully remove the instrument panel. Disconnect the speedometer shaft and all electrical plugs from the back side, then remove the dashboard.

Setting
Hatchback with 10/89 Vol. 9/85 - 9/89 MY.
| - Connect multicontact plugs on the back side of the instrument panel.
- Set the back of the panel tachometer shaft.
- Insert and screw the instrument panel.
