Charging the battery

Marked by + positions apply only to maintenance-free battery, which is installed as standard. Consider these guidelines. If you installed an additional battery, which requires a more complex maintenance, then take into account all the positions.

Before charging, check the electrolyte level, if necessary add distilled water.

Never short circuit the battery. If a short circuit it is hot and may crack. Do not illuminate the battery an open flame. Electrolyte (based on sulfuric acid) is corrosive and should not get in eyes, on skin or clothing, if necessary, rinse with plenty of water place that got electrolyte.

Disconnect the battery positive terminal wire and weight. When connecting and disconnecting cables, pay attention to the fact that there was no spark. Therefore, pre-disable all current consumers.

Before charging, let to settle the frozen battery. The charged battery is frozen at a temperature of about -65 ? C, poluzaryazhennaya - about -30 ? C, and flat - approximately at -12 ? C.

Remove the plug from the battery and put them in the hole. This will prevent splashes of electrolyte on the nail, and at the same time while charging can dissipate the resulting gaseous products.

Charge the battery in a well-ventilated area. When charging the battery mounted leave open the trunk lid.

In normal charging, the charging current is 10% of the capacity (y Battery capacity 74 Ah, therefore, about 7.4 A).

The battery can be recharged using a Fast-well device.

A warning

Fast charging of the battery should not become a habit! It is not necessary to charge batteries rapidly new or unused for a long time.

Connect the positive pole (+) of the battery with the positive pole of the battery charger and the negative pole (-) of the battery to the negative terminal of the same device.

During charging, the electrolyte temperature must not exceed 55 ? C, if necessary, reduce or interrupt the charging of the charging current.

Charge until until no further gas evolution busy in all cells and no longer increases tension and specific gravity measured three times at intervals of one hour.

After charging, check the electrolyte level, if necessary add distilled water. + Check the density of the electrolyte. If the measured density in one cell smaller than other values (e.g., five cells of density 1 26 g / ml and in one cell - only one, 18g / ml), then the battery is faulty and should be replaced (restore).

Leave for about 20 minutes the battery to fully discharge gas, then screw the plug.

A warning

The engine must not run with the battery disconnected, - damaged electrical system.
