Ignition system



The ignition system of classical type, battery. It includes distributor, coil, spark, power supply, wire high and low voltage.

From 1978 model year to model "230E" and "280E" established contactless system of ignition TSZ adjusted ignition timing vacuum and centrifugal controls ignition gauge-distributor. The sensor is driven to rotate the intermediate shaft.

Operating procedure of cylinders

  • M 115 and M 102: 1-3-4-2
  • M 110 M 123: 1-5-3-6-2-4


Accumulator battery

The battery is in the front left of the engine compartment. Minus voltage of the battery is connected to the car body.
