1. All models are equipped with two-speed fan assembly cooling system, placed in a plastic casing mounted behind the radiator. | 2. Manage the operation of the fan carries PCM via the relay set speed limits. PCM ECT sensor informs about the current coolant temperature and the module based on the analysis of the incoming data, shall include the appropriate fan speed mode. At idle it is integrating low-speed mode. Upon reaching the temperature of the liquid value of 106 ? C PCM switch on high-speed mode number 1 or ? 2. Having a second high-speed mode ensures serviceability of operation of fans, even in case of failure of one of the relays. Continues to operate correctly even in the event of failure of the ECT sensor.
A - Low Speed Relay B - high-speed mode switch number 1 C - high-speed mode switch number 2 |
3. If the fan continues to run continuously, you should check the status of the relay and the coolant temperature sensor. Procedure sensor diagnostics is provided in Chapter 6. Diagnostics relay described in Chapter Onboard electric equipment. 4. Warm up the engine to normal operating temperature, - fans should be involved; otherwise, check the condition of the corresponding fuse is located in the engine compartment or in the vehicle assembly block (see chap. Onboard electric equipment). | 5. If fuses are OK, unplug the wiring of the electric fan drive. Using a fuse fitted jumper wire, connect either of the two terminals of the power of the electric motor to the battery. Black wire to ground terminal to ground. If the fan does not work, replace it. |
6. When the power supply directly from the battery the fan is working properly, connect a voltmeter to the mass of the chassis and try both electric power supply terminals at the harness side. When warmed up the engine to normal operating temperature (indication temperature gauge in the instrument panel) on one of the terminals should be a battery voltage. 7. Using an ohmmeter, check the condition of the ground loop - between the terminal and the black wire weight of the chassis should be a resistance less than 5 ohms. At higher instrument readings should identify and eliminate the cause of violations taking place. 8. If in the course described in paragraph 6 of checking the power connector terminals missing, check the supply of its low-grade relay mode. On one of the receiving terminal relay socket voltage of the battery must take place constantly, on the other - only in the ON or START ignition key. 9. If the power is supplied to the bay regularly check the conductivity of the relay itself (see chap. Onboard electric equipment). |
