Removing and installing clutch master cylinder
Assemble the clutch master cylinder
| 1 - Housing 2 - Hydraulic fluid reservoir 3 - Cover tank 4 - Return spring 5 - Sealing cuff 6 - Piston | 7 - Emphasis valve (removed when removing the springs and piston, 1.5 ÷ 2.9 Nm) 8 - Pusher 9 - Emphasis 10 - Retaining Ring 11 - Bellow 12 - lock nut (8 ÷ 11 Nm) |
REMOVAL | 1. Construction of the master cylinder of the clutch is shown in the illustration. 2. Disconnect the negative wire from the battery. | If installed on the car stereo is equipped with a security code before to disconnect the battery make sure that have a correct combination for audiosystem input in action! |
| 3. Under the dashboard, remove the locking pin from the lever and remove the clutch pedal pusher finger split master cylinder. |
| 4. Remove the pump of the automatic speed control (ASCD). Disconnect the assembly clutch master cylinder hydraulic line - avoid rounding spline nut, weakening choke assembly reasonably made with a special Allen wrench with a split head. Prepare rags to collect spilled hydraulic fluid. | To avoid damage to paintwork not spill brake fluid on the painted surface of the body. |
|
| 5. Give the clutch master cylinder nuts on the rear bulkhead of the engine compartment. Remove the master cylinder assembly (be careful not to spill the brake fluid). |
|
|
INSTALLATION | 1. Start the master cylinder assembly on the regular place and secure it with nuts, by hand tightening the past. 2. Connect to the master cylinder hydraulic line - be careful not to distort the cap nut choke connector to prevent irreversible damage to the latter due to the failure of the thread. 3. Tighten the fixing nut and fitting the hydraulic line. 4. Connect the plunger of the cylinder to the clutch pedal and fix a new pin split finger. 5. Fill the reservoir of the necessary amount of brake fluid DOT 3 (see chap. Adjustment and routine maintenance), then take a path of air pockets (see. Section Removal of air from a hydraulic path of a drive clutch). 6. Check the height settings and the freewheel clutch pedal, if necessary, make appropriate adjustment (see. Section Adjusting the clutch pedal). |
