REMOVAL

PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Construction of the drive shaft is shown in the illustration.
2. Remove the cap rim.
3. Remove the cotter pin and remove from the hub nut locking nozzle and felt washer.

4. Use a socket wrench to loosen the collar length Hub nut, but do not give it yet final.

If the key head does not pass through the hole in the center of the wheel, remove the latter and temporarily install a spare tire in place.

5. Loosen the nuts corresponding to the front wheel. Poddomkratte car and establish it on props. Remove the wheel.

6. Give the hub nut, remove the washer. If the hub is in the process of giving the nut starts to rotate. Wedge mount between the two wheel studs, resting a second end thereof to the ground or vehicle body parts.

7. In order to release the shaft journal of the hub assembly, use a hammer and brass knockout. If the components are "baked onto" ultimate joint and the shaft is not a place, it is necessary to remove the brake disc (see chap. Brake System) and the use of 2-gripping puller.

8. Remove the crankcase and set up for assembly of transmission drain capacity.
9. Remove the clip securing the brake hose to the front suspension, then release the rack from the knuckle assembly (see chap. Suspension and steering).

10. Pull out the knuckle assembly, remove it from the pins of the drive shaft (try not to damage the brake hose).

If the brake hose prevents the removal of the knuckle, remove brake caliper and, without disconnecting the hose, tie rack assembly to wrap spring.

11. When removing the left shaft mount, use a pin to gently release the inner CV joint from transmission. The casing of the internal hinge of the right shaft is threaded into the assembly of the support bearing. To release the assembly of the bearing bracket, remove the three bolts securing the latter to the bearing. Mark position of bearing in relation to the bracket and carefully remove the shaft assembly.

When removing the left shaft on the models equipped with the AT, a situation may arise when the internal hinge release of the transmission would be impossible. In this case, you must first remove the right shaft, and then thread the screwdriver through the side of the differential gear and beat the left shaft inside.

12. Do not forget to replace the drive shaft seals in the transmission housing (see chap. Transmission).

INSTALLATION

PERFORMANCE ORDER

Installation is in the reverse order. Pay attention to the following points:

a) If the installation of the shaft assembly of the left do not forget to put a new lock ring in the groove on the inner CV joint pin. Sharply push the shaft into the transmission, ensuring it clicks into place in the second leg of the ring groove in the hub of the differential side gear (on the right shaft of the ring is not provided, - fixation assembly is provided with three bolts securing the bracket support bearing;
b) In setting the right shaft, make sure that the bolts of the support bearing have been tightened with demanded effort;
c) Establish a wheel, lower the car on the earth and tighten wheel nuts with demanded effort (see. Chapter Settings and maintenance);
d) Ensure compliance with the effort of a tightening of the hub nut, do not forget to install the felt washer and replace the cotter pin;
e) Check the transmission oil level (models with Manual transmission) or a lubricant liquid of differential (AT model), if necessary, make appropriate adjustment (see chap. Adjustment and routine maintenance).
