Removal, check of a condition and installation of components of the clutch assembly

Remember that generated in the process of wear of the friction linings slave drive clutch dust can contain unhealthy asbestos. Do not blow off the dust with compressed air and avoid inhaling it. Do not wipe the clutch components petroleum solvents, - use only the special brake cleaners or pure methanol. Before disposing of used rags piled in sealed containers.

REMOVAL

Assembling the clutch disc

1 - friction pads - worn in the picture below the limit
2 - Rivets - used for fixing the friction lining and the excessive wear of the past begin to leave grooves on the working surface of a flywheel
3 - Torsion springs and dampers - must be checked for cracks or signs of strain

4 - Fitted splined hub - to be free to slide on the spline input shaft gearbox,
Slots should not be excessively worn
5 - Marking facing the flywheel side of the disc - generally in the form of inscriptions such as "Flywheel side"

PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. In order to provide access to the clutch assembly gearbox usually removed leaving the engine of the vehicle. If the engine has been removed or to carry out the general overhaul, the state of the clutch components must be checked without fail. Given the relatively low cost of parts and a considerable amount of plumbing work to ensure access to the clutch assembly, it makes sense to replace the latter, regardless of the status of its components. Below is a description of the procedures for removing the clutch without removing the engine from the car.
2. Remove the gearbox (see. Removal and installation Manual transmission). Prop up the engine a jack, or post it on top of the winch (preferably the latter). In the case of the jack do not forget to lay between his head and the oil pan with a piece of wood to distribute the load.

Maslozabornik oil pump is located very close to the bottom of the sump and can easily be damaged if the strain of the last!

3. Plug the clutch release bearing, and can be left in their regular places, but not their condition should also check (see. Section Removal, check of a condition and installation of the release bearing and release lever).
4. In order to avoid loss of the slave drive when removing the basket, pass its hub tool for centering the clutch.

5. Inspect the surface of the flywheel and clutch assembly of the basket for the presence of marking (usually in the form of applied white paint letters X or O). If you can not find the marking, put it on their own, clearly marking the position of the basket with respect to the flywheel /

6. Acting on a diagonal order, in divided doses evenly loosen the bolts to the flywheel clutch, diaphragm spring is completely unloaded.

7. Firmly supporting the clutch assembly, finally, remove the bolts and then detach the base from the flywheel and remove the unit from the car.

CHECK

PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. The most common violation of serviceability of functioning of the clutch is associated with the wear of the friction linings slave drive. However, you must carefully examine the state of all the other components in the assembly.
2. Inspect the working surface of the flywheel for cracks, signs of overheating, furrows and other damages. Minor defects can be eliminated by grooves in a workshop of car-care center (groove is recommended regardless of the surface). Description of the procedures for removing and installing the flywheel is given appropriate section Engine.
3. Evaluate the degree of wear of the friction linings clutch disc. The surface of the lining should rise above the heads of rivets at least 1.6 mm. Make sure all the rivets density planting, check the torsion springs / dampers for cracks, deformation and traces of other mechanical damage. As mentioned above, the replacement of components is reasonable to make the clutch every time you dismantle the assembly, so pay attention to the slightest error.
4. Together with the slave drive is replaced as always and release bearing (see. Section Removal, check of a condition and installation of the release bearing and release lever).
5. Evaluate the condition of the treated surfaces, and the petals of the diaphragm spring pressure plate. If any defects replace the basket assembly. Traces of light polish can be removed with fine sandpaper. Through branded service station Honda's you can buy on the basis of the reduced exchange coupling assembly.

INSTALLATION

PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Before installing, wipe the machining surface of the flywheel and pressure plate soaked in acetone rag. It is extremely important to achieve complete degreasing of working surfaces of components, as well as the friction linings slave drive. Touch the components only washed clean hands.

2. Squeeze the basket assembly (with embedded in and fixed tool for centering the drive plate components) to the flywheel. Make sure that the clutch disc turned out to be deployed to the flywheel is marked with the corresponding label (such as "Flywheel side") party. If marks are absent, remember that the slave drive is always set torsion springs / dampers to the gearbox.

3. Hand tighten the bolts to the flywheel assembly.
4. Perform centering of the clutch assembly components. A special tool is passed through the hub and drive plate tucked into a pocket on the end of the crankshaft pins. To align components move the tool in different directions in the vertical and horizontal planes. Acting in a diagonal manner, in stages tighten bolts of assembly, then tighten them with demanded effort. Extract tool for centering the clutch.
5. refractory tamp grease release bearing inner groove (see. Section Removal, check of a condition and installation of the release bearing and release lever). Also lubricate the contact surfaces of the clutch lever and a pin of a primary shaft of the gearbox.
6. Replace the release bearing (see. Section Removal, check of a condition and installation of the release bearing and release lever).
7. Install the gearbox and all filmed for access components. Track, that all fixture has been tightened with the appropriate torque.
