Maintenance

The general condition of the car body is one of the factors that greatly affect the price of the car. Maintenance of the body is very simple, however, it should be carried out regularly. Neglect of maintenance, especially after the small lesions, can quickly lead to a further deterioration of the body and increase the cost of repairs. It is important to monitor the state of the elements of the car that are not visible, such as underbody, the inner surface of the wheel arches and the lower part of the engine compartment.

The main form of care for the body is washing - preferably with plenty of water hose. This will remove any dirt that could stick to the car. The dirt should be flushed so that it is not scratched color. Wheel arches and underbody also need to be cleaned regularly with water to remove the dirt gathered, which contains moisture and promotes the formation of corrosion. Oddly enough, but the best time for cleaning the bottom and wheel arches is wet weather, when the mud is wet and soft. In very wet weather cleared from the bottom of most of the deposits of its own, and this is the best time for inspection.

From time to time, if only on the bottom of the car is not waxy protective coating is applied, it is recommended to clean the underbody and engine compartment by means of steam in order to allow for a thorough examination and determine which minor restoration or repairs are needed.

The steaming can be carried out in many garages, and it is necessary to remove all oil deposits which accumulate sometimes quite thick in some places on the bottom. If you can not spend steaming, use a solvent which is necessary to process the bottom with a brush, the resulting mud can then simply wash off with water. Please note that these methods are not recommended for use on vehicles with a protective wax coating the bottom, so it can be removed. Cars with such a coating should be inspected every year, preferably before the winter period, while the bottom is necessary to wash and restore the protective coating. Ideally, you should apply a completely new protective coating. Also, it is recommended to use a wax coating to fill their door panels, thresholds, box sections for additional protection against rust if such coverage has not been applied by the manufacturer.

After the painted surface will be washed, dry with a chamois leather for perfect surface finish. Pure wax polishing layer provides additional protection from the chemicals contained in the air. If the paint has faded or oxidized, treat it with cleaning and polishing preparations to restore shine. This operation is quite time-consuming, but this darkening is usually due to the fact that a regular car wash neglected. When working with a painted metal surface must be particularly careful for processing it is necessary to use a non-abrasive cleaning and polishing agents in order not to damage the polishing. Always make sure the vent and drain holes and tubes are clean so that water can drain freely. Chromium coatings must be treated as well as painted. The oil film that is often formed on the windshield and glass can be removed using a suitable cleaning agent for glass. For processing glass Never use wax compositions or chrome finish.
