Automatic Transmission, 4, 5-speed)

Lever Automatic Transmission
Fig. 1.182. Lever Automatic Transmission

Highly efficient automatic transmission has four gears for forward and one reverse gear. Gear shifting is performed automatically, depending on the position of the selector. The selector lever has two slots: the main slot and a slot for a manual shift mode.
In the main slot to move the selector lever has four positions.

NOTE
Depress the brake pedal in the process of switching the gearbox.
Stalk should switch freely.
During the running of the car or after connecting the wires to the battery terminal gear may not happen so smoothly. This does not indicate a fault in the gearbox. Gear will be smoother after a few switches in automatic mode (electronic control automatic transmission).

ATTENTION
While driving the car can not move the selector lever into position ?R? or "P".

Warning lights on the instrument panel are used to indicate the position of the selector of an automatic transmission, and one of these lamps illuminate when the ignition key is in position ?ON? (?On."). When the selector is in position ?D? (?Movement", the main transmission) indicator lamp turned on for this time of the transfer is green.

The assignment of the selector

"P" - parking.
Use this position for holding the vehicle in place while parking or starting. When parking the car set the parking brake and move the selector lever to position "P" ("parking").

ATTENTION
Do not move the lever to position "P" ("parking"), until the vehicle is completely stopped. Failure to do so may damage the automatic transmission.

?R? - Reverse.
Use this position to reverse. Translate the selector lever into position ?R? (?Reverse") only after the vehicle is stopped.
?N? - Neutral position.
In this position selector automatic transmission is disabled. In this position, you can start the engine, but this is not recommended, except in cases where the engine has decayed during movement
?D? - Movement.
This mode is used for traffic, automatically turns on one of the four / five assists.

Manual gearshift (?Sports mode?)

Manual gearshift
Fig. 1.184. Manual gearshift

Regardless of whether the vehicle is in motion or is stationary, the transition in the manual shift mode by moving the selector of an automatic transmission from the position ?D? (?Movement") into the slot manual gear selection. to return to the ?D?, the selector must be translated back into the main slot. In manual mode, gear changes can quickly switch the latter by moving the selector forward or backward. In contrast to the manual gearbox, manual mode (?Sports mode?) allows you to switch gears when the accelerator pedal is depressed.
UP (): Move the lever forward once, at the same time be included overdrive.
DOWN (-): move the selector back once, at the same time will downshift.
Go through the gears: fast double movement selector lets you switch to skip one gear, that is to pass from 1st gear to third, or with a third on the 1st.

ATTENTION
In manual mode does not automatically switch to overdrive. The driver himself must actuate the overdrive, according to road conditions and at the same time, ensure that the engine speed of the engine does not exceed the maximum allowable value (tachometer needle should be below the red zone).
In order to protect the engine switched transmission comes up automatically when the engine speed red zone.
Quick double movement of the selector back (down) lets you switch to skip one gear, that is to move from 3rd gear to the 1st, from the 4th to the 2nd or 5th to 3rd. Since a sharp engine braking and / or rapid acceleration can cause a loss of traction with the road surface, the downshift should be carried out carefully in accordance with vehicle speed.
In manual shift mode, you can select only one of the four / five forward gears. For driving in reverse or parking lot, move the lever to position ?R? (?Backward") or "P" ("parking"), respectively.

In manual shift mode with a decrease in vehicle speed downshift automatically. When the car stops, automatically turns on 1st gear.
To ensure the required dynamic performance and safety of a vehicle, the system can not perform some shift by moving the selector.
When starting on a slippery road, move the selector of an automatic transmission in a forward position of the "+" (up). Thus there is the inclusion of 2nd gear, which makes it easier to pull away on slippery roads. Move the selector to the "-" (down), switching to 1st gear.
To ensure the smooth and safe operation before translate the selector from position "P" (Park) or ?N? (neutral) to position for reverse gear, fully depress the brake pedal.
To move the selector from position "P" ("parking") to another position, the ignition key must be in position ?ON? (?On.") And the brake pedal must be fully depressed.
Translate the selector from position ?R? (?Reverse?), ?N? (neutral position), ?D? (?Movement", the main transmission) to position "P" ("parking") is always possible. The vehicle must be completely stopped to prevent damage to the gearbox.

ATTENTION
While driving the car can not move the selector lever into position ?R? or "P".
Do not press the accelerator pedal when the transmission is in reverse gear or a gear to move forward with the brake pedal depressed.
Always depress the brake pedal when translating the selector from position "P" ("parking") or ?N? (neutral) to position ?R? (?Backward") or ?D? (?Movement", the main transmission).
Do not use the "P" ("parking") instead of the parking brake. Even when leaving the car for a short time, always set the parking brake, move the lever to position "P" ("parking") and switch off the ignition. Never leave your vehicle unattended with the engine running.
When starting off on a steep slope the vehicle can roll back to that did not happen when starting off in the sport mode, move the selector to position "2".
Regularly check the fluid level in automatic transmission and add fluid if necessary.

Unlocking the selector lever (optional)

Unlocking the selector lever
Fig. 1.185. Unlocking the selector lever

If the selector lever is not shifted from the "P" ("parking") to any other position when fully depressed the brake pedal and the ignition key is turned to ?ON?, do the following. Remove the cover on the console and a thin object, such as a flat screwdriver, press the release button selector. Then, by pressing the brake pedal, move the selector to the desired position. Release button selector will automatically switch to its original position after the transfer gearbox from the position "P" (park). Then put the cover on the console in place.

Receptions correct driving
Do not move the lever out of position ?N? or "P" to another position when the accelerator pedal is depressed.
While driving the car can not move the selector lever to position "P".
Before you translate the selector in position ?R?, make sure the vehicle is completely stopped.
Do not roll downhill in neutral gear. It is very dangerous. Always keep the transmission enabled while driving.
Do not have a habit of driving in which the accounts brake abruptly. This leads to overheating and loss of braking effectiveness. On the downhill to prevent overheating of the brakes should be applied engine braking (including downshifts).
When the downshift slightly slow down the car. Otherwise, reduced transmission may not start.
Always use the parking brake. Do not rely on the translation of the selector to the "P" in order to prevent movement of the car.
Be especially careful when driving on slippery roads. Be especially careful when braking, acceleration and gear changes. On a slippery road abrupt change in vehicle speed can cause you to lose traction with the road, and loss of vehicle control.
The optimum economical driving style, making best use of engine performance is the style in which the driver slightly presses and releases the accelerator pedal.
