If the engine overheats
If the temperature gauge coolant is in the zone of overheating, turn off the road and stop the car in a safe place. Move the lever to position "P" ("parking") (automatic transmission) or the shift lever position neutral and apply the parking brake. If the air conditioner running - turn it off. If coolant is flowing out of the vehicle or under the hood is steam, turn off the engine. Do not open the hood until the coolant does not stop flowing from under the vehicle or under the hood no longer go pairs. If there are no visible signs of leakage of coolant or steam, turn off the engine and make sure that the radiator fan cooling system working. If it does not work, turn off the engine. Check the drive belt the coolant pump. If it does, check the power of its tension. If the belt is in order, check for coolant leaks from the radiator, hoses, cooling system, or from under the car. (When was the air conditioner after stopping the car from it merges cold water, this is normal). If the drive belt and the water pump is defective or there is a coolant leak, immediately turn off the engine. If the cause of overheating is detected, wait until the engine coolant temperature returns to normal. If there was a leak of coolant, carefully remove the radiator cap and add coolant to the average mark in the expansion tank.
ATTENTION Severe reduction in coolant level indicates a leak in the cooling system. |
