Working with automatic transmission

For normal forward movement switch mode "D" (movement).

To transfer mode switching lever from the "P" (Park), turn the ignition switch to "ON", fully depress the brake pedal and press the safety lock button.

For smooth switching of the lever of switching of modes from the position "N" (neutral) to move forward or backward fully depress the brake pedal.

Do not press the accelerator pedal if the mode is enabled reverse "R" or any mode of moving forward, and at the same time the brake pedal is pressed.

To stop the car on the rise or downhill, do not use the engine. Use the main or parking brake.

Do not switch the mode of movement from the position "N" (neutral) or "P" (parking) to "1", "2", "D" (motion) or "R" (Reverse) when the engine has a speed above idling.

SYSTEM downshift O / D

Press the system downshift O / D, on and off the system. When the system is turned off (button is pressed), warning light OFF (off) the system O / D, and the range of gear boxes is limited to 1st through 3rd. 4th gear will not turn on again until the button is pressed the system O / D.

When the ignition is turned off, turn off the system mode O / D is automatically disabled.

LIGHT CONTROL SYSTEM OFF O / D

The indicator lamp in the instrument cluster illuminates when the system O / D is turned off.

Flashing warning lamp off O / D indicates a fault in the electrical system of a transmission. If this happens, as soon as possible go through technical inspection by an authorized Kia dealer.

The "P" (parking)

Switching to this mode will lock the transmission and wheels. Completely stop the vehicle before turning this mode.

Activating the "P" (parking) during movement will block the front wheels and the car will be completely uncontrollable.

Activating the "P" (Park) while driving may damage the transmission.

Leaving the car, do not use the mode "P" (parking) instead of the parking brake. Always make sure that the gear change mode is set to "P" (Park), and it can not be moved to another position without pressing the safety button. The parking brake lever must be raised up to the failure. Always leaving the car, stop the engine. Never leave your vehicle unattended with the engine running. The vehicle can start moving away, if you do not comply with these recommendations.

Set in this mode for reversing.

Before you engage reverse gear "R", make sure the vehicle is completely stopped. When you activate the "R" may damage the transmission if the car is moving.

In this mode, the engine is not blocked either, nor wheels. The vehicle can pull away even on a gentle slope, if not inhibited primary or parking brake.

Mode "D" (motion)

This mode is for normal forward movement. Transmission will automatically select one of the four programs, providing the best fuel economy and engine performance.

In order to achieve more power, for example, when overtaking or climbing up steep slopes, press the accelerator pedal to failure and the transmission shifts to a lower gear.

The "2"

This mode is necessary to include in the slow movement in a dense stream of cars or climbing a steep hill. This mode also provides engine braking when driving with the descent and reduces wheel slip on slippery roads.

The "1"

This mode should be included if you want great traction when towing another vehicle or when driving on a steep uphill or downhill.

Starting on a steep rise

For pulling away on a steep rise, press the brake pedal and the gear change mode set to position "D" (movement), "1" or "2" depending on the vehicle load and the steepness of the climb and release the parking brake lever. Slowly depress the accelerator pedal while releasing the brake pedal core.
