Ignition Switch

The provisions of the ignition key.

LOCK (Lock)

The shaft of the steering wheel anti-theft device is locked and the steering wheel can not be rotated. So the car is protected from theft. The key from the ignition switch can only be removed in this position. For models equipped with an automatic transmission with the key position as the lever is locked mode dial to "P" (parking).

ACC (Accessories)

When you turn the key in this position off the protective device. You can include individual car accessories, such as the radio, windshield wipers. The motor will remain off.

ON (switched on)

If the key is in this position, you can check the indicator lights of the car (except the brake system warning lamp). Thus, even before starting the engine, make sure that all vehicle systems are OK. Once the start up the engine, the ignition key return back to this position and will remain there for the entire time of operation.

If the engine is not running for a long time, do not leave the key in the position ON, because this is accompanied by an unnecessary discharge of the battery.

START (Ignition)

Start up the engine by turning the ignition switch to START. The motor will rotate the starter until you release the key, which he will return to ON. In this position, warning lamp also lights up the brake system to check the lamp. When the ignition key is rotated with difficulty in START position, this may be due to the pressure of the steering shaft to lock the protective device. Spin the key to turning the steering wheel left and right to release the tension on the lock and turn the key.

A warning

During the movement will never turn the ignition key to LOCK (lock) or ACC (Accessories). Jam may occur loss of steering and braking performance, which immediately leads to an accident.

During the movement never tried to reach the ignition key or other controls, thrusting his hand inside the steering wheel. As a result of non-compliance with this warning may be followed by loss of control of the brakes and steering, which will lead to an emergency situation.

Models with automatic transmission

When turn the ignition key to LOCK (lock), the gear change mode transmission must be in position "P" (parking).

Models with manual transmission
