Assessment of the degree of wear, replace disc brake pads front wheels

Assessment of the degree of wear

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Original brake pads are equipped with wear indicators friction linings. Liberate from under the body lining wire indicator starts during braking rub on the surface of the disc, emitting a high-frequency squeal - immediately replace the pads.
  1. Visual assessment of the degree of wear of the friction linings of the front brake pads can be made through a special viewing windows in the rear caliper (see. - the minimum allowable thickness of 2.0 mm - If necessary, replace the pads.
  2. If necessary, remove the pad and make a more detailed study of their condition, - measurement of the thickness of the friction lining is produced from the base metal substrate (see.

Replacement

For cleaning brake components should be used special tools or methyl alcohol - do not use petroleum solvents!

Pads should be made to complete the brakes on both front wheels.

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Post the car off the ground and remove the front wheels.
  2. Remove the pair of guide bolts and remove the brake caliper - without disconnecting the flexible brake hose tie up a support to the suspension elements.
Reversing the guide bolts of the front wheel brake.
Filmed support should, without disconnecting from it a flexible hose, tie to the suspension elements.

Alternatively, it will be enough to turn a lower guide bolt and tilt the caliper up, turning it relative to the upper bolt.

  1. Remove the anchor bracket brake pads old.
  1. Using a special clamp press working piston into caliper wheel cylinder.
  1. Fill in the anchor bracket new brake pads, - track correctness of the placement of the spring retainer.
  2. Lower the caliper on the regular place, screw the guide bolt (s) and tighten them with demanded effort.
  3. Operating in a similar manner, replace the brake pads of the second.
  4. Replace the wheel and lower the car to the ground.
