Removal, service and installation of the main brake cylinder

Hit the brake fluid on the painted surface of the body is associated with the risk of damage to paintwork - accidental splashes should be removed immediately with a dry cloth or a clean paper towel!

Withdrawal

When removing proceed in numerical order components.

Details of installation of the GTZ

1 - Connectors wiring gauge-switch of the brake fluid level and differential gauge-switch
2 - Hydraulic lines
3 - Bolt

4 - The differential control valve
5 - Nut
6 - Support bracket
7 - GTZ

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Place a cloth under the GTZ to prevent brake fluid on the painted surface of the body panels. Pump of hydraulic fluid tank GTZ.
  1. Disconnect electroconducting from the gauge-switch of the brake fluid level in the brake fluid reservoir and the differential gauge-switch valve, pressure regulator.
  1. Use the special Allen wrench to detach the cutting head of GTZ hydraulic lines.
  1. Operating in a similar manner, remove the hydraulic lines from the assembly is located under the GTZ control valve - models with brake system basic design.
  1. Remove the retaining bolt and remove the GTZ, together with control valve with the brake servo, - try not to bend the pusher.

Service

Disassembly and assembly

Try to avoid damage to the mirror surface of the cylinder and piston assemblies of workers!

An order of dismantling of GTZ

1 - Connector wiring gauge-switch of the brake fluid level
2 - Screw
3 - Cover the tank with built-in strainer
4 - Float
5 - a brake fluid reservoir

6 - Planters sleeve
7 - stop screw with a sealing ring
8 - Retaining Ring
9 - the primary piston assembly
10 - Assembling the secondary piston
11 - Housing GTZ

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Remove the retaining screw and remove the cylinder body reservoir brake fluid.
  1. If necessary, remove the tank cover and remove planted under it strainer.
  1. Accurately having hooked a blunt screwdriver, remove the receptacle housing GTZ planting rubber sleeve tank.
  1. Wrap insulating tape screwdriver to press the piston inside the cylinder and remove the stop bolt.
  1. Keeping the plunger depressed, with suitable pliers, remove the retaining ring and remove the cylinder assembly of the primary piston.

When removing the piston cylinder should occupy a horizontal position, - try not to damage the cylinder bore.

  1. To remove the secondary piston assembly, expand the cylinder vertically and tap it on the edge of the seat flange laid on a solid surface a pair of wooden blocks.
  1. Carefully read the apparent condition of the extracted components - in the case of signs of excessive wear, traces of corrosion, cracks, burrs, and other mechanical damage, prepare replacement parts. Loose / damaged piston spring must also be replaced.
  2. Assess the brake fluid reservoir, - if necessary, prepare replacement.
  1. Operating in reverse order of the dismantling of components make assembly GTZ - rubber cuffs of pistons before filling the latter in the cylinder should be lubricated with clean brake fluid. Ensure compliance with the requirements of the specification of the Head Brake system to the efforts of a tightening of threaded fasteners.

Adjusting the length of the push rod

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Before installing the assembly on the car GTZ should make adjustment of the length of the push rod.
  1. Place the landing GTZ flange gasket top set adjuster by tightening the adjusting screw to lock it in the bottom of the receptacle piston assembly.
  1. With manual vacuum pump, create a vacuum brake booster assembly depth of 66.7 kPa (500 mm Hg. Art.).
  1. Remove the adjuster with GTZ and push it to the end surface of the vacuum amplifier.
  1. Measure the gap between the cap and the end of the adjusting bolt push rod. If the result is outside the permitted range (0.1 ÷ 0.3 mm), release the lock nut and make the appropriate adjustments by rotating the rod.

Setting

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Installation is the reverse order of disassembly of components - be sure to replace the gasket, make sure of compliance with Specifications Chapter brake system to the efforts of a tightening of threaded fasteners.

To tighten the screws, use the choke ring spanner with a slotted head.

  1. Finally, make pumping hydraulic circuit brake system (see. Section pumping the brakes).
